Chapter 100: You Only Have a Few Times

“How many times have you two been intimate as husband and wife?” Qin Xiaotian leaned against the seat, his speed slowing down.

His dark eyes fixed on Song Qingtian in the rearview mirror; if she spoke, it would be obvious at a glance.

Although Song Qingtian was quite the drama queen, Qin Xiaotian knew her all too well.

In essence, Song Qingtian was a bit of an airhead—though not exactly “bad.”

“You really don’t need to know that,” Song Qingtian said, lowering her head to fiddle with her delicate, jade-like hands. She turned them over and over; even late at night, even in the car, her hands still looked beautiful, and she was very pleased about that. The original female supporting character’s looks were just like hers—even her hands were so pretty.

Qin Xiaotian wasn’t flustered, though. “Isn’t the reason you came to see me divorce and have a child?”

“Not right now—I want to wait a bit longer,” Song Qingtian replied. She wanted to fight for Nuonuo. She couldn’t let Nuonuo be bullied. She’d been bullied since childhood—how could she possibly watch Nuonuo follow in her footsteps?

Back then, all she wanted was to break free from Ling Hanyu. She wanted to leave Ling Hanyu for the sake of the original female supporting character—but what about Nuonuo? A woman who’s always been a hopeless romantic—if she gets divorced, it’ll be like a kid whose parents are divorced, and who doesn’t know how to handle being bullied.

Song Qingtian would never let that happen. Compared with Nuonuo, she could put divorce aside. As for dealing with Ling Hanyu, there had to be some way.

Hearing Song Qingtian’s words, Qin Xiaotian’s handsome face grew stern, especially his eyes, which radiated an icy chill.

“Ms. Song, are you deliberately playing games?” Song Qingtian had a past, so it wasn’t hard to understand why Qin Xiaotian thought that.

Song Qingtian instantly understood what Qin Xiaotian meant. She looked up at him, their eyes met, and they locked gazes for over ten seconds.

Finally, Song Qingtian turned her face away and stared out the window, thinking back to her past with Qin Xiaotian.

It didn’t feel entirely comfortable.

Qin Xiaotian glanced ahead and said, “I’ve got something else to do…”

“Just drop me off—I’ll take a taxi home.”

Qin Xiaotian gave Song Qingtian one last look. “This road we’re on now—you can only go forward, not back.”

Song Qingtian instinctively peered out of the car. Was this some kind of yin-yang road? Going but never returning?

But looking ahead, she felt a bit dazed, as if she’d suffered a mild concussion. When had they gotten onto the highway?

“Um…” Song Qingtian panicked and hurriedly pleaded with Qin Xiaotian in front of her. She wanted to go back.

Her hands clutched the seat behind Qin Xiaotian, and she stuck her head out, her breath almost brushing against his collarbone.

She said, “I want to go back.”

Qin Xiaotian glanced at Song Qingtian in the rearview mirror, a hint of amusement in his eyes. Still acting up, huh?

Song Qingtian grew anxious. “My daughter’s at home—if she wakes up and can’t find me, she’ll worry. Please, I’m begging you!”

When you’re begging someone, you’ve got to look like you’re begging.

Song Qingtian wanted to explain herself properly.

Qin Xiaotian sneered. “If Ms. Song kisses me once, maybe I’ll agree.”

Song Qingtian froze, staring blankly at Qin Xiaotian’s face, remembering what Qin Xiaotian had said.

She remembered the day he was leaving—their last meeting. Qin Xiaotian said he had to go, that he was being forced to leave. She asked what would happen then, and he joked, “If Ms. Song kisses me once, maybe I’ll agree to stay.”

The scene flashed and vanished.

Song Qingtian took a deep breath and sat back down. She fell into thought.

Why did everything have to be so coincidental?

Her rational mind told her that the man in front of her wasn’t her Qin Xiaotian.

Yet everything felt so eerily similar!

Qin Xiaotian felt a flicker of irritation. He couldn’t quite put it into words.

The car sped up, hurtling in a certain direction.

Song Qingtian was startled when her phone rang. She picked it up and said, “Hello?”

“Where are you?”

Ling Hanyu had been chasing after Song Qingtian but hadn’t seen her yet—he’d been searching for a while now.

That damn woman just runs around everywhere, giving him trouble!

Song Qingtian looked around nervously. “Listen, I’ve been kidnapped—do you believe me?”

Song Qingtian was only joking.

To be honest, she didn’t even know how to explain her current situation, so she said that.

On the other end of the line, the sound of a speeding car already echoed like thunder.

Ling Hanyu’s expression darkened. “You’re in Qin Xiaotian’s car?”

Song Qingtian was puzzled. “His name is Qin Xiaotian?”

This was the first time Song Qingtian had heard that.

She raised her head and looked at Qin Xiaotian. “Your name is Qin Xiaotian?”

It was as if the whole world had fallen silent.

One person’s feelings, three people’s world.

Song Qingtian’s words left all three of them speechless.
