Chapter 151: Who Exactly Has Fallen?
Chapter 151: Who Exactly Has Fallen?
Yang Yifan suddenly began to admire Song Qingtian, his gaze toward her completely different.
All the previous disdain vanished in an instant.
“Madam truly is shrewd!”
Yang Yifan felt a sense of admiration.
Song Qingtian, however, paid no attention to any of this.
Although people in this world love being drenched in sweetness, no one remembers that cloying sweetness; instead, they savor the bitterness that can be harmful.
Honest words are hard to hear, and good medicine tastes bitter.
Most people probably can’t take it to heart, but those who can certainly shouldn’t be underestimated.
Song Qingtian believed she wasn’t one of those who couldn’t take it to heart.
Yet she also didn’t want to be one of those clueless fools who just blindly follow without understanding.
Take the original female supporting character, for example.
Song Qingtian was about to go rest, while Yang Yifan was about to leave.
Ling Hanyu suddenly asked, “Did your father-in-law say this too?”
“What?”
Song Qingtian looked utterly bewildered, her small face as if frozen in place.
Ling Hanyu also suddenly realized that Song Qingtian’s face was really tiny—barely much bigger than his daughter’s.
And it wasn’t just that she was small; she was simply too perfect!
Ling Hanyu stood up and walked straight over to Song Qingtian.
Song Qingtian felt rather puzzled: “If you’ve got something to say, just say it—why are you coming over here?”
Yang Yifan looked embarrassed. Lately, General Ling had indeed been quite impulsive.
But facing such a transformation in the young madam, who wouldn’t feel impulsive?
Still, with an outsider like him around, wasn’t General Ling being a bit too hasty?
Ling Hanyu chuckled—and when he did, Song Qingtian’s head almost ached.
It was as if flowers were blooming.
A grown man laughing like that… how could a woman possibly live?
Ling Hanyu leaned in, placing both hands on either side of Song Qingtian’s body and closing the distance between them.
Song Qingtian wanted to step back, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it—why should she retreat when she hadn’t done anything wrong?
Summoning her last bit of courage, she stared intently at Ling Hanyu.
Ling Hanyu pressed close to her ear and said, “If you don’t give me a proper explanation for this separation, today… it’s not over!”
“What did you say?”
Song Qingtian was completely confused: “What’s there to explain?”
Ling Hanyu pulled away from Song Qingtian’s ear and looked at her face.
Song Qingtian’s breathing had grown a bit rapid, and Ling Hanyu couldn’t help but notice how her earlobes had turned red as she tried to hold herself together.
“Explain how you know so much? Don’t tell me you’ve somehow enhanced yourself, and definitely don’t say it’s your father-in-law’s doing—I won’t believe it!”
“If you don’t even believe me, what’s the point of explaining?”
Song Qingtian lowered her eyes, her lashes thick and curled like false ones—a trait she’d perfectly inherited from her daughter.
Then there was her skin—so delicate it seemed almost fragile.
“If you’re not going to explain, how am I supposed to know you don’t believe me?”
Song Qingtian felt a surge of irritation: “Secretary Yang, please step outside.”
Yang Yifan had already been itching to leave.
With a turn, Secretary Yang exited.
As the hospital room door closed, Song Qingtian wrapped her arms around Ling Hanyu’s neck and pushed him closer: “You’re too close to me!”
Then she kissed him.
Ling Hanyu dodged twice, and Song Qingtian paused for a moment.
When their eyes met, Song Qingtian loosened her grip, but Ling Hanyu quickly seized her hand, his eyes blazing with desire mingled with unease.
Yet he didn’t say a word—he just held onto Song Qingtian as she tried to pull away.
Song Qingtian sneered at Ling Hanyu: clearly, he was addicted to this kind of thing, yet he still pretended to be a model of self-restraint, like Liu Xiaohui.
It was as if every time he did this, it wasn’t really him—it was as though some ghost had possessed him!
Song Qingtian bit her lip: “I’m still on my period. I just remembered—I… um…”
Suddenly pinned down, Song Qingtian didn’t even struggle; she surrendered completely into Ling Hanyu’s embrace.
Ling Hanyu admitted that Song Qingtian now carried a scent unlike before, and even the way she twisted her body was different.
She curled up tightly, unwilling to let him go.
He, too, found himself utterly captivated, unable to pull away.
After a while of entanglement, Ling Hanyu finally withdrew his hands from Song Qingtian.
Song Qingtian curled up on the bed, covering herself with the blanket.
Ling Hanyu’s shirt was nearly all tangled, and he slowly put it back on.
They locked eyes, and Song Qingtian closed her eyes.
Even though she was on her period, she still found herself drifting off into daydreams.
At this point, she could hardly tell whether she was falling with the original female supporting character—or whether it was she who had fallen!
