Chapter 164: A Move as Fierce as a Tiger

Song Qingtian planned to go herself, but before she could, she ran into Shen Congyue downstairs.

Song Qingtian simply couldn’t stand Shen Congyue.

She had intended to just walk past, but Shen Congyue called out to her: “I was really surprised to see how you handled the kid that day—after all, you’ve always ignored Nuonuo.”

Song Qingtian looked at Shen Congyue and asked, “How do you know about our family?”

Even though she didn’t like Shen Congyue, if the other woman was going to provoke her, she couldn’t exactly duck out of it, could she?

She couldn’t beat Ling Hanyu—the damn jerk—and there was nothing she could do about him, but she did have a daughter.

She certainly wasn’t going to kill the girl’s beloved father.

But what was Shen Congyue, anyway?

She was Ling Hanyu’s legal wife, the president’s wife of the Ling Group. How dare Shen Congyue make such a bold accusation? What right did she have?

Shen Congyue replied nonchalantly: “You used to ignore Nuonuo—you’d go out shopping while Nuonuo was home with a fever, left unattended. Whenever Aunt Chen called Hanyu, it was always me who stepped in to take care of her.”

Song Qingtian nodded and said, “So that’s how it was!”

“Exactly,” Shen Congyue added, a smug gleam flashing in her eyes—a look dripping with challenge.

Song Qingtian could have easily ignored Shen Congyue; after all, she didn’t have any real feelings for Ling Hanyu. If he divorced her, it wouldn’t matter who he ended up with—none of it concerned her.

She wasn’t about to follow the path of an original female supporting character.

But Shen Congyue was openly provoking her, and there were so many people downstairs, including Yang Yifan.

She didn’t want to lose face or let anyone think she was easy to push around.

“So I’m really puzzled,” Song Qingtian pressed on. “If it was Aunt Chen who called Mr. Ling, then why did you step in to help? Even if you were helping, there are plenty of other people in the company. You’re from the Finance Department—you’re not a nanny!”

Song Qingtian kept pressing, question after question.

Shen Congyue didn’t hesitate to answer: “Hanyu and I are very close friends—we’ve known each other for ages.”

“What did you say? Are you two lovers behind my back?”

Song Qingtian blurted out, her temper flaring instantly.

Yang Yifan thought today’s situation was getting a bit strange, but before he could even make sense of what Shen Congyue had said, he was startled by Song Qingtian’s loud shout.

How audacious of Shen Congyue!

That kind of remark was just too humiliating!

It wasn’t smart to deliberately provoke Song Qingtian in the first place, and now she was going even further by saying something like that.

Did she really not want to stay at the company anymore?

The other employees were equally shocked by Song Qingtian’s words.

Although everyone knew deep down that Shen Congyue’s motives toward President Ling weren’t pure, there was no need to be so blatant about it.

After all, Song Qingtian was the legitimate president’s wife—she wasn’t someone you could openly defy.

Even if you secretly called and bullied Song Qingtian behind her back, that would still be a wiser move than this.

Song Qingtian clearly lacked intelligence; her parents couldn’t control her, and she had sunk into self-destruction.

She couldn’t take care of her child, and she couldn’t do her job either.

While her parents were around, she indulged in eating, drinking, and having fun; once they were gone, she clung to her child like a last straw, all just to secure a better life.

But now she was using her child to provoke Song Qingtian, and then exploiting her own relationship with President Ling to infuriate her.

Not smart at all.

Although Song Qingtian was utterly useless, people heard that she had played a role in the Chen Yun affair and even helped President Ling.

Without Song Qingtian’s accidental, almost blind luck in stumbling upon the company’s confidential documents, the company would have suffered huge losses.

President Ling had also been treating her better lately, even carrying her into the office a few times.

Everyone had seen it.

Shen Congyue had been away for two months and obviously hadn’t heard about any of this—but even if she hadn’t, there was no need to come back and immediately provoke Song Qingtian.

As soon as Song Qingtian shouted, it drew everyone’s attention.

No one approved of Shen Congyue, but no one could have imagined what would happen next: she was fired and kicked out of the Ling Group.

When Song Qingtian shouted, everyone turned to watch them—even Shen Congyue herself was taken aback. When had she ever claimed to be a mistress?

“What are you talking about, Song Qingtian?” Shen Congyue snapped, furious.

Song Qingtian glared coldly and retorted, “You said it yourself—why are you asking me now? Do you think I’m easy to bully?”

With that, Song Qingtian kicked off her high heels, grabbed Shen Congyue by the hair, and slammed her head hard against the ground.

Shen Congyue had never experienced anything like this before and screamed and cursed, “Song Qingtian, are you crazy? How dare you hit me?”

“I called you a third wheel, a shameless woman! Ling Hanyu is blind—he’s been seduced by you, and I’m still alive!”

With one ferocious move, Song Qingtian battered Shen Congyue until she was covered in bruises, her vision blurred, and she felt dizzy.

Secretary Yang was so scared he didn’t dare get close, but the security guards rushed over.

Just as Shen Congyue was about to collapse, Song Qingtian shoved her hard, and Shen Congyue stumbled backward, losing her balance and falling to the ground.

And she actually passed out!
