Chapter 258: Song Yinyin, Are You Planning to Default?
Chapter 258: Song Yinyin, Are You Planning to Default?
“General Ling, should we leave it at this for now, or keep following up?”
Yang Yifan believed that the top priority was to find them first; everything else could be dealt with later.
Aunt Chen was there too, and she agreed.
Ling Hanyu sat on the sofa for a while before saying, “Since someone’s already made an offer, let’s leave it at that for now.”
“What about Madam?”
“I’ll handle it myself. You go back to the office for now—call me if anything comes up, and I’ll head over shortly.”
Yang Yifan wasn’t sure what Ling Hanyu had in mind, so he turned and left first.
Aunt Chen, of course, grew worried. What had become of the young madam and the young lady?
They’d been out last night and still hadn’t returned—no word at all. She’d tried calling, but the line kept going straight to voicemail.
When Yang Yifan left, Aunt Chen asked, “Sir, do you have any news about Madam and the young lady?”
“They’re fine—they’re just hiding for now. They’ll be back in a couple of days. You go ahead and get busy at home; if you call this afternoon, you should be able to reach them.”
Ling Hanyu wasn’t in a good mood. One Song Qingtian, and suddenly everyone was watching him. How could he possibly feel good?
He went upstairs to change clothes, then headed to the office.
Only then did Aunt Chen finally breathe a little easier.
Judging by his expression, she knew he’d managed to get in touch.
That was good.
As long as the young madam and the young lady were safe, she was content.
Bai Ge’s Residence
Upon hearing that the Song family had suffered a major blow, Bai Ge wasn’t worried at all. She just sat in front of the TV, hoping for the best, scrolling through her phone.
Song Yingtang was capable—especially with the Shen family behind him. It was all only temporary.
It wouldn’t be long before the Song family bounced back from the brink.
For now, though, her priority was to investigate Song Qingtian.
Bai Ge left home and headed to Ling Hanyu’s residence, planning to wait patiently for the right moment.
She could hire a private detective, of course.
But no one else inspired confidence in her—not even remotely.
Only herself. Only she felt truly secure.
Shen Conghao received a call, and Old Master Shen erupted in a furious rant. After venting, he ordered Shen Conghao to take funds to the Song family to bail them out.
Though Shen Conghao didn’t want to, he had no choice but to obey Old Master Shen.
Still, money wasn’t much of a concern for Shen Conghao; this was just the beginning. As for marrying Song Yinyin—that was out of the question.
On his way to the office, Ling Hanyu called Song Qingtian.
Just to give it a shot—and surprisingly, the call went through.
What’s more, Song Qingtian answered.
But Song Qingtian had only just gotten up. He’d not only had to rise and prepare breakfast, but also dress his daughter, so things were a bit chaotic.
Still, Song Qingtian was afraid Ling Hanyu might figure out where he and his daughter were, so they couldn’t make even the slightest sound.
Song Qingtian held up a shushing gesture and mouthed to his daughter, “It’s Daddy’s call.”
Ling Nuonuo’s bright eyes widened, and her little hands quickly covered her mouth.
She certainly didn’t want Daddy to find her and Mommy.
Song Qingtian asked, “Mr. Ling, is there something you need?”
Ling Hanyu slowed down. “You were calling me by name just yesterday—why are you being so polite today?”
“Just a habit,” Song Qingtian replied.
This morning, when Song Qingtian checked, all traces of his relationship with Shen Conghao had vanished.
It was as if nothing had ever happened.
But Ling Hanyu certainly hadn’t done this.
After all, when he’d spoken with Shen Conghao last night, Shen Conghao had already said he’d handle the matter himself.
And last night, the withdrawals had begun one after another.
With enough money, you could bribe the servers to sweep the entire network, erasing whatever you wanted while simultaneously pressuring others to prevent certain things from disappearing.
But there was one thing Ling Hanyu must have done.
The Song family’s stock had plummeted, and bankruptcy seemed imminent.
Back when Song Haichang was still around, Ling Hanyu had stepped in once before—but that time, his goal was merely to send a warning, not to wipe them out completely.
This time, though, it came without any warning at all. It felt like the end of the Song family’s story.
Yet the Song family still had some life left in it, so maybe they could pull themselves back up.
So it all depended on Ling Hanyu.
And Song Qingtian didn’t want the Song family to be completely finished just yet.
So she had something to say.
“What ‘habit’? You don’t learn the good ones—you only pick up the bad!”
Song Qingtian didn’t want to dwell on it. She held the phone to Ling Nuonuo’s ear and said, “It’s Daddy’s call—say hello to Daddy.”
Ling Nuonuo hurriedly greeted, “Daddy!”
“Nuonuo, do you miss Daddy?”
“Yes! Mommy says we’ll get to see Daddy again in a few days!”
Ling Nuonuo was still trying to sweet-talk Ling Hanyu.
How could a father not believe his daughter?
“Daddy knows—be good to Mommy!”
“Nuonuo’s such a good girl, Daddy’s the one who’s not behaving!”
Ling Hanyu’s face darkened, and he slowed down even more.
Those words sounded like Song Qingtian was blaming him.
“Daddy, I’m going to wash my hands now—I’m going to wash my hands.”
Ling Nuonuo hurried off, while Song Qingtian continued talking to Ling Hanyu—but she kept it simple: “The Song family can’t be wiped out just yet. I still have some things to do.”
With that, Song Qingtian hung up.
Ling Hanyu wanted to say more, but all he got was confusion.
The call ended, and Song Qingtian frowned: debts always have to be paid. Song Yinyin, are you planning to default?
