Chapter 286: The Female Knight from Ancient Times
Bai Ge dropped Song Yinyin off at home and said, “Don’t go anywhere for the next couple of days. I just can’t believe she’ll be able to track us down here. If she can’t find you, what threat could she possibly use against you? She probably thinks you’re hiding, so we’ll strike in secret.”
“What about you?” Song Yinyin asked, puzzled. Why would Mom go out at a time like this?
Bai Ge smiled and said, “I’ll figure out how to hire someone to do the dirty work!”
“Mom, you…” Song Yinyin protested.
“Silly girl, I’m already old—how could I ask you to do something like that when you’re still so young?”
Song Yinyin was deeply moved, her eyes welling up with tears.
“Then be careful!” Bai Ge urged.
“Go back now—don’t come out again. Remember that!” Song Yinyin quickly nodded, watching Bai Ge drive away.
It’s true that Bai Ge was going to hire someone to carry out a murder—but she wasn’t actually going to hire anyone to do it herself. After all, if they got caught, the risks would far outweigh any potential gains.
So when she said she was going to hire someone to kill, she meant she’d go find someone else.
And that someone, of course, was Song Yingtang.
Bai Ge drove her car to the vicinity of Song Yingtang’s company.
She parked outside a nearby hotel and headed straight for the very establishment where she and Song Yingtang often met.
Once inside, Bai Ge went straight upstairs.
Not long after, Song Yingtang arrived.
Little did they know that Song Qingtian, disguised as a hotel server, had been waiting there for quite some time.
In fact, Song Qingtian wasn’t only there when Song Yingtang walked in—she’d been there even before Bai Ge showed up.
She’d even installed a hidden camera in the very room where the two were supposed to meet.
All she had to do was wait for them to arrive.
The hotel had strict confidentiality agreements, and since Bai Ge and Song Yingtang had visited the place many times before, they felt completely at ease. As soon as they stepped inside, they immediately lost themselves in passion and didn’t bother to check anything at all.
Meanwhile, Song Qingtian sat in the next room, observing everything from every angle—truly covering every possible blind spot.
But really, there wasn’t much to see between an older man and an older woman, and Song Qingtian wasn’t particularly interested in them anyway; she could just watch from afar.
Only after they finished their business and headed to the bathroom to take a shower did Song Qingtian finally get up and leave.
She went to the door, took out the room key she’d picked up from housekeeping, swiped it to unlock the door, then entered the room and located Bai Ge and Song Yingtang’s phones. Using a data-wiping device, she erased the contents of both phones.
Only then did she leave the room.
With the evidence securely in hand, Song Qingtian headed back to her car and drove off.
On the way, she changed clothes while driving.
She was still wearing her server uniform—looking every bit like a secret agent.
Her car sped toward Bai Ge’s residence, and Song Qingtian pulled over to the side, scanning the area around the villa.
She got out of the car and climbed the wall on the side, avoiding the surveillance cameras, and slipped inside.
Once inside the villa, Song Qingtian quickly made her way through the front door.
There was no one on the first floor, so Song Qingtian first switched off the main power supply.
Upstairs, Song Yinyin was taking a shower and couldn’t get out of the bathroom, feeling rather confused.
Song Qingtian hurried downstairs and then went upstairs again, searching carefully.
When she confirmed that Song Yinyin was in her own bedroom, she moved on to Bai Ge’s room, turned off the power, and rendered the security cameras useless.
The same went for Bai Ge’s room.
After a thorough search, she found several washed photos tucked under the nightstand.
Seeing the photos, Song Qingtian smiled—it was exactly as she’d expected: Bai Ge always kept her most important belongings hidden under the nightstand.
With the photos in hand, Song Qingtian immediately headed downstairs to the power switch, flipped it back on, and retraced her steps.
Just as Song Yinyin had finished drying her hair and was about to head downstairs to take a look, she received a call and turned right back around to finish her shower.
It was as if everything had happened in a place completely devoid of people.
Once Song Qingtian emerged, she headed straight for the car.
As she opened the door and prepared to get in, she startled the person inside.
“You scared me half to death!” the other person exclaimed, clutching their chest and turning pale.
Inside the car, Ling Hanyu stared coldly at Song Qingtian.
This woman wasn’t from the modern era at all—she was clearly a female knight from ancient times!
