Chapter 313: What Should We Do If Something Goes Wrong?
Bai Ge finally got up after a long while. Song Qingtian said, “I can give you the video, but you have to hand over the items—Bai Ge… I’m here today for two reasons. First, to get back the things that belong to my parents and me. Second, about my parents’ car accident—was it you who did it?”
Bai Ge was taken aback and looked at Song Qingtian. “You’re really crazy! You think I had something to do with everything. Let me tell you… your parents’ death has nothing to do with us.”
“I’ll explain your parents’ situation to you later. Let’s talk about the items first—will you give them to me or not?”
Song Qingtian adopted a tough stance.
Bai Ge kept a cold face. “I don’t have them. How could I? I already told you—it was Aunt Chen who stole them. I even have a video of her!”
“What video? It must be on your phone, right? Why are you still denying it? On the day of the accident, I used a device to erase every single video in your hands. But let me tell you, the reason Aunt Chen dragged a suitcase over to my parents’ place was because you’d been following them there. To prevent you from lying in wait, I had Aunt Chen lure you away like that.”
Bai Ge was completely stunned.
Song Qingtian went on, “Even so, I wouldn’t possibly leave any evidence in your hands. That’s why I wiped all the so-called ‘evidence’ from your phone. But even if I hadn’t, I’d still find a way to turn your ‘evidence’ into a joke. I’ve got plenty of tricks up my sleeve.”
“Right now, I’m keeping it simple—no need to hurt Aunt Chen!”
“So what exactly are you trying to do now?”
“The items—hand over the things that belong to my parents and me. Give me back what’s mine, and I’ll leave on my own. Otherwise, I’m not letting this go.”
“Fine. You keep saying you came here to apologize to Yinyin, but in reality, you’re just trying to blackmail me?”
“Whether it’s blackmail or not, we both know. You don’t have to give them to me—you can sue me, accuse me. Go ahead and call the police right now. I’m not afraid of people who’ve done wrong, so what are you scared of?”
Bai Ge was speechless.
Song Qingtian continued, “Let me tell you—our stuff has to be returned to us. Otherwise, you’ll end up in jail. I’m just not wasting time arguing with you; otherwise, I could sue you.”
“You’re going to sue me?”
“You really underestimate my parents. You think just because you took their stuff, no one will ever find out? Our home has a safe, a dressing table, and hidden cameras everywhere. Whether you took it or not, I know better than anyone. Hand over the videos, give me back the items—I just don’t want any more trouble for everyone.”
“What if I refuse?”
Bai Ge finally gave in.
Song Qingtian came to her door demanding the items—how could she possibly refuse?
Bai Ge was exhausted and desperate to get her hands on the video.
“Then I’ll just release the video.”
Bai Ge was completely speechless.
Looking at Song Qingtian, Bai Ge knew that if she didn’t hand over the items, Song Qingtian wouldn’t stop until she did.
Even though handing over the items would break her heart, she didn’t hesitate much—she wanted the video as soon as possible.
She picked up the list on the table, glanced at it, and immediately flew into a rage: “There’s no way there’s so much! It’s obviously…”
Song Qingtian looked at Bai Ge. “So it really was you and your daughter who took our stuff. I wasn’t sure at first—I just wanted to test you. Who would’ve thought you’d admit the truth as soon as you saw the list?”
Bai Ge stared at Song Qingtian in disbelief, realizing she’d been tricked and dropping her act.
“There’s not that much.”
“There’s definitely a lot on the list. Just give me back what you took, and I brought the video with me too.”
“Hand it over.”
Bai Ge reached out her hand.
Song Qingtian smiled. “The items.”
Bai Ge turned around and hurried upstairs, only to come back down shortly after carrying a box.
This time, when Bai Ge came downstairs, Song Yinyin also ran down, crying and shouting.
Even though she was barely able to walk, she was determined to get the box—she’d risk anything for its contents.
Song Qingtian was very satisfied.
But she didn’t grab the box right away. Instead, she bent down and opened it, carefully checking each item to make sure it was exactly what she was looking for—and that nothing was missing.
Once she’d taken everything out of the box, Song Qingtian put it into a backpack she’d prepared in advance and handed it to Secretary Yang.
“Take it.”
Yang Yifan was momentarily stunned. He glanced at Bai Ge and her daughter, then looked at Song Qingtian.
If he left like this, what would happen if something happened to Song Qingtian?
