Chapter 323: Will You Say It Again?
Chapter 323: Will You Say It Again?
After finishing her remarks about Yang Yifan, Song Qingtian turned to Qin Xiaotian: “You heard what my elder brother said—there’s no way I’d divorce Ling Hanyu just because of your ‘special’ condition. Wouldn’t that be utterly absurd? But since I’ve come all the way here today, let me make one thing perfectly clear: chances are we’ll never end up together. Even if I do break up with Ling Hanyu, I’m certainly not going to marry someone I don’t love just for the sake of it.”
“I don’t dislike you—I love you!” Qin Xiaotian shot back immediately.
Song Qingtian, however, turned away and smiled wryly. “Do you really love me? Or is it only because of my physical condition that you want to marry me? And isn’t it the same with your family—they’re only pushing this marriage because of that very reason. To put it bluntly… your real goal is simply to carry on the family line. But I’m no tool; I’m not someone who’ll just do whatever you or even Ling Hanyu tell me to do!”
With that, Song Qingtian pointed to her belly. “If you want to use my womb, sorry to say—it’s only available to the person I want to use it for, and clearly, that’s not you.”
“How can you speak so bluntly?” Qin Xiaotian was clearly taken aback by this side of Song Qingtian.
Song Qingtian chuckled. “You guys brought me here and weren’t afraid to say those things or make those demands—yet when I say a few words, suddenly I’m being too direct? Your family’s expectations are indeed quite high; I have to admit, they’ve really opened my eyes.”
Qin Xiaotian’s expression darkened. “It’s true I like you, and it’s also true I hope you’ll bear my child—but both of these are based purely on my feelings for you.”
“Not necessarily!” Song Qingtian glanced toward the villa entrance. “Qin Xiaotian… if you don’t like how direct I am, then let me tell you: there’s much more about me you won’t like. After all, there’s so much about me that you can’t even see. And among the things Mr. Qin dislikes—or thinks are crude—there’s someone… who absolutely loves them!”
Qin Xiaotian’s face grew even colder. “Ling Hanyu?”
Song Qingtian smirked. “Mr. Qin, sometimes it’s best to know when to step back. Even though you come from an excellent background, you still shouldn’t force yourself on others. Remember—‘a melon forced to ripen won’t be sweet.’”
“Song Qingtian… I’ve already been very polite to you, yet you keep pressing me. Can’t you just…”
“Can’t!” Song Qingtian’s tone turned icy. “If you can force me into submission, then I’ll die right in front of you. That’s who I am—Song Qingtian!”
Butler Qin took a deep breath. “Young Madam…”
“You don’t need to say anything more. I know exactly why the Qin family wants me: to solve their problem. It doesn’t have to be me, and I, for my part, have no intention of marrying Mr. Qin.”
With that, Song Qingtian stepped closer to Qin Xiaotian. Looking closely, she realized his face was identical to Qin Xiaotian’s—even their eyes were the same.
Song Qingtian smiled, as a parting gift to leave the past behind.
“Mr. Qin, some things, once missed, are gone forever. There was a time when I did consider you, but you’re like a child—always changing your mind, always busy with endless tasks, and always sitting back to watch others fight while reaping the benefits yourself.”
“What do you mean?” Qin Xiaotian couldn’t quite grasp it at first.
Song Qingtian reminded him: “Every time I run into trouble, you either make matters worse or simply disappear. But looking at it, it’s not that you never show up—it’s that you’re watching from the shadows. As for those who claim to love me, didn’t they all stay away when I fell into a coma? Maybe you like me, but that’s hardly love. True love means your heart would be broken to pieces if you found out the person you love had slipped into a coma.”
“If you weren’t heartbroken over my coma, then why bother saying you love me and wanting to marry me? In fact, Mr. Qin, you probably love yourself more than anything else.”
“I really do love you. Of course I’ve felt hurt, but now that things have come to this, there’s nothing I can do. Even if I killed everyone, what good would it do?”
Song Qingtian laughed. “Let me tell you something: if it were Old Steward or your parents who died, you’d rush straight after revenge, because avenging your father’s death is a matter of life and death. But I’m different. You say nothing makes sense—that’s the difference between weighing priorities and deciding what truly matters!”
“And besides… if we switched roles—if you were Ling Hanyu and he were you—he’d never let it go. No matter where you ran, whether to the ends of the earth or even into the heavens, he’d hunt you down and seek vengeance for me. He wouldn’t stay sad forever, but every now and then he’d think about it, and each time he did, it would hurt. And once he’d gotten his revenge… he’d die by my side!”
“Die by my side? I can do that too!”
Song Qingtian looked at Qin Xiaotian, wondering if the author had ever met Qin Xiaotian—why did Qin Xiaotian feel so much like Qin Xiaotian? They’re both so clueless and can’t even understand simple things.
Song Qingtian figured there was no point in saying more, so she simply kept quiet. Instead, she turned to the people at the villa entrance and decided to deal with them later.
