Chapter 326: This Isn’t Over Yet
After kissing her enough, Ling Hanyu pulled away from Song Qingtian and glanced at her dazed expression.
Not wanting anyone to see, he held Song Qingtian tightly in his arms.
Hugging her close, Ling Hanyu said, “You go out first.”
“I still have something to say.”
Song Qingtian simply didn’t want to leave—she really did have something to say.
Pushing Ling Hanyu away, Song Qingtian’s fiery temper flared up.
She walked over and slapped Qin Xiaotian across the face.
The moment the slap landed, the entire Qin family was shocked.
Qin Xiaotian, too, had been stunned by Ling Hanyu and Song Qingtian’s earlier behavior.
He could only feel resistance toward her, but Ling Hanyu seemed to relish it.
“Do you really dislike me this much?”
Qin Xiaotian felt a pang of sadness; he couldn’t even tell what he was feeling anymore.
Song Qingtian, her face cold as ice, said, “I didn’t file a lawsuit against you—suing you for rape would already be showing you mercy. Slapping you is actually being lenient.”
Qin Xiaotian stared at Song Qingtian, then suddenly fell silent.
Butler Qin was equally at a loss.
The young master had never liked anyone in his life; it was rare for him to meet someone—and yet this was how it turned out.
“Young Master, let’s hear what the young mistress has to say first. If she can’t think of a solution, or if her solution doesn’t solve the problem, then we’ll just have to go back to where we originally planned,” Butler Qin said, hoping for a peaceful resolution—even if Qin Xiaotian ended up with nothing, at least he wouldn’t be hurt.
In fact, Butler Qin knew that since Song Qingtian claimed she had a way to help the Qin family solve the issue of continuing the family line, the chances were very high that she’d succeed.
But he didn’t want to see Qin Xiaotian suffer, so he said those words—to calm Qin Xiaotian down.
Yet Qin Xiaotian, agitated, retorted, “Didn’t you hear what she said? In her heart, I don’t exist at all!”
Butler Qin looked at Qin Xiaotian’s pale face and felt a pang of sympathy.
Before he could say anything more to try to persuade him, Qin Xiaotian waved his hand and said, “It’s okay, I’m fine.”
With that, Qin Xiaotian went over to the sofa and sat down.
He sat there, expressionless, like a walking corpse.
Song Qingtian didn’t want to make things worse for Qin Xiaotian either; if he hadn’t done something to anger her, she wouldn’t have struck out.
Song Qingtian didn’t think she was in the wrong. She glanced at Ling Hanyu and asked, “Why are you here?”
“If I didn’t come, what would you do?”
Ling Hanyu shot Song Qingtian a disgruntled look and turned to the Qin family.
“Uncle.”
Ling Hanyu called out.
Song Qingtian was struck dumb.
She slowly turned to look at Ling Hanyu beside her, who wore an arrogant expression.
Then she looked at Old Master Qin.
Old Master Qin chuckled lightly and said, “Your wife is indeed quite capable. But since there’s already a solution, let’s get started—let’s hear what your wife has to say. If this whole thing… turns out to be a lie, then she stays and carries on the Qin family line for us.”
“That’s impossible!”
Ling Hanyu’s face was icy cold as he surveyed everyone present in the Qin household.
He looked at Qin Xiaotian and said, “Let’s put our grudges aside for now. Is it really worth letting your brain and your emotions dictate everything, forcing others to interfere?”
Qin Xiaotian slowly raised his head, his gaze darkening.
But he remained silent.
He looked at Ling Hanyu, yet didn’t say a word.
Song Qingtian glanced at Qin Xiaotian. Although she didn’t understand the relationship between Ling Hanyu and the Qin family, she figured it must be quite close.
That’s why she addressed Old Master Qin as “Uncle”—according to Song Qingtian’s understanding of generational hierarchy, “Uncle” refers to the elder brother or younger brother of one’s maternal grandmother.
So Ling Hanyu clearly has Qin blood running through his veins.
As a child, he often visited the Qin household and had a close relationship with Qin Xiaotian.
However, the two brothers must have had some serious falling out at some point, which eventually led to their bitter enmity.
Neither Ling Hanyu nor Qin Xiaotian is one to dwell on family squabbles, and no one ever talked about their identities—or their relationship.
If it weren’t for hearing it with her own ears today, Song Qingtian would hardly believe it.
Since Qin Xiaotian didn’t respond, Ling Hanyu simply ignored him.
Turning to Ling Hanyu, Song Qingtian snorted coldly and said, “My wife, Ling Hanyu, will never bear children for anyone else. Times have changed—this is no longer a world controlled solely by your Qin family. Otherwise… shall I invite my maternal grandmother to come and take a look at you?”
Mentioning her maternal grandmother, Old Master Qin’s expression grew somber: “Who are you trying to scare with that?”
“Not afraid?”
Ling Hanyu smiled.
“Then just wait.”
Ling Hanyu showed no fear whatsoever as he took Song Qingtian’s hand and pulled her over to sit beside him.
He lifted his leg and pressed it against hers.
Crossing his legs, he leaned back on the sofa and waited.
“Today… it’s not you who’re demanding an explanation from us—it’s us who’re demanding one from you. If you don’t give us that explanation, this isn’t over yet!”
Song Qingtian sat to the side, looking utterly bewildered.
Just waiting like this—will it really work?
