Chapter 50: Emotional Outburst
Chapter 50: Emotional Outburst
“Ling Hanyu, aren’t you being childish?”
“Take a look at the final note.”
Song Qingtian quickly flipped to the last page and saw a single sentence written in a font at least two sizes smaller than the main text.
“If Song Qingtian violates the rules, seven days will be added for each infraction; if Ling Hanyu violates the rules, seven days will be deducted for each infraction.”
After reading this sentence, Song Qingtian clenched the papers in her hands so tightly that it felt as though she might crush them. Her eyes blazed with fury as she glared at Ling Hanyu.
Ling Hanyu calmly accepted Song Qingtian’s disdain and then leaned his face closer.
Song Qingtian mentally cursed Ling Hanyu ten thousand times, took several deep breaths, quickly planted a kiss on his cheek, and then hurried away.
But life is just like that—so full of sorrow.
Just as Song Qingtian was about to gently and lovingly ask Ling Hanyu to leave, she heard Nuonuo’s adorable, surprised voice:
“Grandpa! Grandpa! Look, Mommy’s trying to get us to kiss Daddy instead of you! I knew it—Mommy loves Daddy the most!”
Nuonuo’s exclamation drew Song Yinyin, who had just gotten up and was about to head downstairs, over to the scene. She rushed over and saw Ling Hanyu holding Song Qingtian’s waist.
Then a faint smile played on his lips.
“Of course Mommy loves Daddy the most! Last night your mom called me and said she’d realized her mistake, so she asked me to come pick you all up early today, right, Qingtian?”
With Ling Hanyu holding her, Song Qingtian’s body involuntarily went limp, and she slumped against him like a boneless snake. Though she knew he’d said something utterly shameless, she could only go along because of that agreement.
She forced a professional fake smile, trying to make her expression soft and tender.
“That’s right, Nuonuo. Lately I’ve been going to bed earlier, and my hormones have been a bit out of whack, so I keep arguing with your dad. But last night I had a sudden change of heart—I realized I really can’t live without your dad.”
As soon as Song Qingtian said this, both Song Pingzhao and Song Yinyin were dumbfounded. Especially Song Yinyin, who mentally cursed Song Qingtian countless times for being such a bitch. She felt completely thrown off balance now and thought Song Qingtian had completely messed things up for her.
Afraid she might lose control and lash out, she quietly slipped away.
Song Pingzhao, meanwhile, scrutinized Song Qingtian and Ling Hanyu with a piercing gaze.
“Qingtian, did that bastard Ling Hanyu threaten you? You told Dad yesterday how upset you were about not getting along well during the Harmony Year, yet somehow you changed your mind overnight?”
Song Qingtian wanted to nod, but Ling Hanyu gave her a cool glance and whispered in her ear:
“Think about the agreement.”
Song Qingtian inwardly groaned, then shyly turned around and wrapped her arms around Ling Hanyu’s waist.
“Dad, actually what I said yesterday was a bit exaggerated. I just felt that when Han Yu gets busy, he tends to neglect me, so I got really angry—and then I wanted…”
“Dad, I’ll make sure to strike a better balance between work and family from now on. Don’t worry, I’ll never let Qingtian get hurt again.”
Song Pingzhao still couldn’t believe what he was seeing, but when he looked at the happy little Nuonuo in his arms, he sighed.
He thought back to the days when he married Deng Siyu, which had caused Song Qingtian so much hardship over the years—and later even led her to cut ties with him. It really drove home how damaging a single-parent household can be for a child.
