Chapter 20: Chapter 20
After finishing breakfast, Qin Qinxi went to pick up the clothes on the tray.
She held the stack of white fabric and walked into the dressing room.
Though called a dressing room, it was actually a small, separate room.
Three walls were covered in mirrors, and warm yellow light shone from the ceiling.
Standing before the mirror, she spread out the clothes.
It was a slip dress.
The shoulder straps were made of delicate white lace—two thin lines.
The fabric was thick brocade, smooth and cool to the touch, with just the right amount of weight but not overly thick.
The length reached her thighs, with no patterns at all—very simple. The only detail was the V-neck.
But it wasn’t an ordinary V-neck. It was a very deep V-neck.
Qin Qinxi held the dress up to the mirror, comparing it to herself. Her face grew a little hot.
Yet she had no other choice.
She took off her bathrobe and slipped the dress on.
The moment it was on, she froze.
This dress was extremely revealing.
Not the kind of revealing that’s done on purpose. It was the kind where you think it covers everything, but in reality, it reveals absolutely everything.
Brocade is inherently sheer when it’s pure white. Once you put it on, the contours underneath become faintly visible.
And it was way too tight.
One size too small.
It clung to her body, stretched taut.
Around her chest, the V-neck was cut far too low; even the slightest movement made her feel like it would slip right off.
She lowered her gaze to look at herself.
The bruised marks below her collarbone peeked out from the edge of the neckline—completely impossible to hide.
She reached up to tug at the collar, but couldn’t move it. It was far too tight.
The length was also too short. If it were any shorter, it wouldn’t even cover her thighs. As soon as she bent over slightly, the hem shot right up.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.
Qin Qinxi’s heart skipped a beat. She hurried out to open it.
Her heart had been pounding all night—she needed to know the answer.
Two men stood outside the door.
The one in front wore a mask and carried a medical kit; he looked like a doctor.
The man behind him was tall and dressed all in black, his expression blank.
His gaze was cold, and when it swept over her, Qin Qinxi instinctively took two steps back.
The two men didn’t say a word—they just walked right in.
When Bali passed by her, he didn’t even glance at her.
The doctor followed in, set the medical kit down on the coffee table, and opened it.
Qin Qinxi stood in the doorway, watching the doctor’s every move.
He pulled out a slender syringe from the kit. The needle gleamed coldly in the light.
Her throat tightened, and she swallowed hard.
Bali turned around and looked at her, speaking in a cold voice: “Go sit down.”
Qin Qinxi didn’t dare delay. She hurried over and sat down on the sofa.
Her legs were together, her hands resting on her knees—she sat like a well-behaved little schoolgirl.
The doctor came over. He lifted her arm and wiped the crook of her elbow with an alcohol swab.
Then he picked up the syringe, aiming the needle directly at her skin.
Qin Qinxi instinctively flinched.
“What is this?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly.
The doctor didn’t answer. He just raised his eyes to look at her.
Bali spoke up from the side, still in that cold tone: “A contraceptive injection.”
Qin Qinxi was taken aback.
She had almost forgotten that last night, she and that man…
hadn’t used any protection…
Only then did Qin Qinxi relax her hand and straighten her arm.
Bali stood beside her, watching her.
He was astonished. The boss had actually touched a woman.
Over so many years, countless women had tried to get close to him, but the boss had never touched a single one.
And yet this woman…
Tuxi was still hanging upside down in the secret dungeon.
He deserved it—he’d almost ruined the boss.
Tuxi had let this woman escape twice already; this third time, he’d even brought her straight into the boss’s room.
Thankfully, this woman wasn’t some kind of spy.
Bali couldn’t help but take a few extra looks.
What exactly was so captivating about this woman? Why had she completely bewitched Tuxi and driven the boss to lose control and touch her?
Bali sized her up from head to toe.
There she sat, wearing that tight, short white dress, her collarbone covered in marks, her hair a mess, her complexion pale.
Nothing particularly special, though.
She was pretty, but not to that extreme degree.
The doctor packed up the medical kit and stood up.
Bali spoke, still in that icy tone: “Now come with me.”
Qin Qinxi sprang to her feet.
