Chapter 32: Chapter 32
Vio just stared at this woman.
She didn’t say a word, lowering her eyelids as she bandaged his palm—her movements were gentle, yet her fingers kept trembling.
Once the bandage was done, she still didn’t lift her eyes; she just hung them low, lost in thought.
After a few seconds of silence,
the woman took a deep breath, as if she’d made some momentous decision deep inside.
Then, finally, she raised her eyes and looked at him.
Vio raised an eyebrow and simply waited.
He wanted to see what this little mouse had to say.
“Mr. Mansero,” she began, her voice shaking.
Vio didn’t move.
She had, after all, remembered his name.
“Could you… take me back to Syria?” Qin Qinxi’s voice trembled even more from sheer nervousness.
“I’ve never had the courage to ask you before. At first, I could tell you wanted to kill me.”
“I didn’t mean to get close to you. In fact, from the very beginning until now, you haven’t suffered any loss at all.”
She paused for a moment, then continued, “I’m not complaining about anything. I don’t regret saving your men—I’m a volunteer doctor; I treat injuries regardless of side. And I don’t hate your men for bringing me here either; I guess I just got unlucky.”
“As for the five million US dollars you paid to buy me… I can pay it back. Once I return home, I’ll slowly repay you.”
Vio said nothing, just listened.
Because there wasn’t the slightest expression on the man’s face, and his gaze never left hers, Qin Qinxi felt a chill run down her spine.
Her nose suddenly grew sore—out of fear, and because she had no idea what would happen next.
Bali stood by the door, glanced at the boss, then at the woman, before finally looking away as if he hadn’t heard a thing.
It seemed this woman really wasn’t an agent—she was just too afraid of the boss.
Qin Qinxi waited for several seconds, but the man still didn’t speak.
Vio kept staring at her, watching as she swallowed hard, then slowly stood up and dropped to her knees at his feet.
“Please, Mr. Mansero,” she said, her eyes welling with tears, “I’ll pay you back. Just let me go back to Syria.”
Vio frowned slightly.
“My colleagues are still over there—they’re bound to be looking for me. My parents have only me as their daughter, and they don’t know I’ve been in trouble. If you send me back, I promise I won’t tell anyone about what happened here. I won’t say a thing.”
Vio looked down at her.
The woman kneeling at his feet was wearing the dress he’d had her buy, and there were still marks on her neck from his touch.
She knelt there, tilting her head up to look at him, her eyes red and tears welling in her sockets.
She slept with him, put on that dress, and now wants to run away?
He chuckled.
“What are you thinking, Ms. Qin Qinxi?”
Qin Qinxi froze.
“Did I ever say I wouldn’t kill you?” Vio asked calmly, his tone languid. “What did I say? A three-month trial period. It’s barely been a week.”
Qin Qinxi felt her mind go blank—her ears rang, and she couldn’t hear a thing.
“Three months,” Vio said, each word deliberate. “Either I kill you, or I send you back. You choose.”
Bali, standing by the door, couldn’t help but glance over again.
Why would the boss do this? Give her three months, then either kill her or send her back?
He couldn’t quite understand.
Could it be that the boss still thinks this woman is an agent and plans to keep observing her?
Hearing this, Qin Qinxi felt a bit relieved—but she still wasn’t sure what to do.
She licked her lips and said, “All right… thank you, Mr. Mansero.”
Vio ignored her. He stood up and straightened his shirt collar; there were still smudges of blood on his shirt that hadn’t been wiped clean.
“Bali, change to another private dining cabin.”
Bali hurriedly replied, “Yes.”
The two of them walked out one after the other, while Qin Qinxi remained kneeling where she was.
