Chapter 39: Chapter 39
Soon, Qin Qinxi began to let her imagination run wild.
That Mr. Mansero… could he really be giving her away?
Otherwise, why wouldn’t he go back to that villa and have Ice Face bring her here instead?
Could it be that some pervert is waiting for her in this luxury hotel suite?
Did Mr. Mansero think that because that old man had touched her, he no longer wanted her?
He’s not a good person—there’s no doubt he’d do something like that.
Thinking of this, Qin Qinxi’s heart started racing.
She immediately turned around, ready to open the door.
Just as her hand reached for the doorknob, a voice came from behind her.
“Hey. What are you doing?”
A deep, slightly raspy smoker’s voice.
Qin Qinxi whirled around, her heart pounding like a thief’s.
She couldn’t even explain where this sudden sense of guilt came from.
The man was wearing a bathrobe—he must have just taken a shower. The robe was loosely tied at his waist, leaving a small patch of chest exposed.
A hair dryer had blown the hair on his forehead up, and he really loved keeping his hair styled like that.
He appeared out of nowhere and walked straight over to the bar in the living room.
Vio didn’t look at her. He took a bottle of liquor from the wine cabinet and placed it on the bar.
“Like standing around so much?” He bent down and pulled out a drawer beneath the bar. “Go take a shower.”
Qin Qinxi felt as if she’d been struck by an electric shock.
It seemed she really wouldn’t be going home tonight…
Suddenly, she felt so foolish. How could she possibly think of him as someone with good morals?
He’s not a good person; he definitely doesn’t keep his promises. Who knows—he might have already forgotten what he said.
This time, Qin Qinxi didn’t obey. Her hands were slightly clenched, and she lowered her head.
Vio opened the bottle, poured some liquor into a glass, and added a few ice cubes. When there was still no response, he looked over.
And there she was, still standing there like a fool, eyes downcast, lost in thought.
He frowned slightly. “Deaf?”
Qin Qinxi hesitated for a moment, took a deep breath, and finally looked up.
“Mr. Mansero.”
Vio picked up the glass, took a sip, and kept his eyes fixed on her face.
“You said… once a week,” Qin Qinxi said softly.
She mustered all her courage to say it.
If this Mr. Mansero really is someone who doesn’t keep his word…
Then such a person is completely unreliable. After three months, who knows whether he’ll really send her away or not? She was even more uncertain.
Though she hadn’t really expected him to send her away anyway.
She was looking for Uncle.
But she also didn’t want to deal with such a scary person too often…
Vio put down the glass, his gaze still locked on her face.
Suddenly, he smiled.
Playing hard to get. He could see right through her little ploy.
“Have you ever had a boyfriend?” he asked.
Qin Qinxi was taken aback. She hadn’t expected him to suddenly ask her that.
She slowly shook her head.
When she was in high school, she had a secret crush.
But her parents were very strict, so she didn’t dare to date.
Later on, she focused solely on her studies and lost any interest in dating.
Vio nodded slightly and braced both hands on the bar.
“I only told you to go take a shower—there’s nothing else behind it,” he sneered. “What are you thinking about?”
Qin Qinxi was stunned.
These words left her feeling confused.
She didn’t know him well, but after these few encounters, she had a vague impression that he liked to act superior and look down on others.
He probably wasn’t the type to force himself on people…
With his status and looks, there must be plenty of women vying for his attention.
She could tell.
Thinking of this, Qin Qinxi felt a bit more at ease.
“So where am I sleeping tonight…” she couldn’t help but ask.
“Haven’t you always wanted to sleep on the floor?” Vio smirked. “Of course—you’re sleeping on the floor tonight.”
