Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Qin Qinxi didn’t say a word.

She simply trembled as she began to undress herself.

“Thank you… Could you please…?” Her voice shook so badly that her teeth chattered, “Tomorrow… take me home…”

He had a gun.

He was going to kill her.

Qin Qinxi’s mind went completely blank. She had no idea how she’d managed to anger this handsome man.

Perhaps she’d been wrong.

Maybe he was just a henchman for the head of the Criminal Underworld—and he knew she was the target next door. Was he planning to… kill her first and then deal with the rest?

Or… was it because he wanted to sleep with her, but she hadn’t shown any sign of consent, so now he was going to kill her?

…What an absolute jerk.

Overwhelming fear caused tears to well up in her eyes.

Vio was furious right now—extremely impatient.

The thought of killing this woman had already risen to the back of his throat.

He raised his hand, aiming the gun at her, tilted his neck to one side, and gave his cervical spine a little stretch.

Of course, Qin Qinxi could tell that was murderous intent.

Her legs went weak, and she dropped to her knees.

“Please! Don’t kill me…” Her voice trembled uncontrollably. “My parents only have me as their daughter! They’re still waiting for me at home! Whatever you want me to do, I’ll do it—just don’t kill me!”

She didn’t stop; she kept taking off her clothes. Her fingers shook so badly, and she was so nervous that when she couldn’t unbutton something, she just yanked it open—and even took off her shoes.

Soon, she was left wearing nothing but her underwear.

All Qin Qinxi wanted was to survive.

Summoning all her courage, she crawled on her knees to the man’s feet.

Her knees pressed against the cold floor, and she tilted her face upward, trembling like a leaf, tears streaming down her face but too afraid to wipe them away.

Vio looked down at her.

For some reason, the murderous intent that had been pressing against his throat just moments ago suddenly caught in his throat.

He’d lost all interest in her.

But once she’d stripped off every last piece of clothing, her figure was fully exposed.

Although the light was dim and he couldn’t make out the details, he could see how incredibly slender her waist was, with her curves neatly tucked in on both sides.

Qin Qinxi was looking for an opening.

Her parents had only one daughter, and worried that she might be bullied at school during puberty, so they’d insisted on signing her up for sanda classes.

She’d taken lessons before, but she wasn’t very good—only knew two or three moves.

Back then, she didn’t like practicing at all; she cried and begged every day not to go, and her parents finally gave in after a month.

Now she regretted it terribly.

Even as Qin Qinxi continued pleading, her mind was already plotting how to snatch the gun from him.

She didn’t know how to use a gun—she’d touched one and seen it, but she’d never actually fired it. Still, she wanted to live—she had to live.

Vio only paused for a few seconds before a wicked smirk spread across his lips. He said nothing more, then pushed the thumb on the safety catch and disengaged it.

In that very instant, Qin Qinxi sprang up from the ground and kicked him hard between the legs.

Vio let out a muffled grunt and instinctively bent over to cover himself.

Qin Qinxi didn’t stop there; she followed through with an over-the-shoulder throw, slamming him to the ground and snatching the gun right out of his hands.

It was completely unexpected. Vio hadn’t seen it coming at all.

He wasn’t someone who let his guard down—he just hadn’t imagined that this seemingly soft woman was all an act.

Vio winced in pain, his face turning pale as he curled up on the ground and cursed, “Damn it! If you ever make me childless, I’ll chop your whole family into pieces and feed them to the dogs!”

Qin Qinxi held the gun pointed at him, her hand shaking and tears still streaming down her face, but her voice had grown higher: “Raise your hands! Open the door!”

Vio remained stiff and motionless.

This woman had managed to bring him down—she might just as well pull the trigger.

Seeing that he wouldn’t move, Qin Qinxi pushed the gun forward again, her voice trembling even more—but sharper now: “Raise your hands! Hurry up!”
