Chapter 17: It’s You Who Dare Not
Upon hearing this, Ming Yue suddenly froze. Following Jiang Feng’s gaze, she indeed saw Gu Yanxing, clutching his forehead and head, and Gu Yanyun, looking around nervously, not far away.
“What? Are you not getting off?” Jiang Feng asked, his voice slightly cold.
Ming Yue had already withdrawn her hand, slumping back against the chair. Her body felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, and her feet seemed to be filled with lead—she had no intention of getting off the vehicle at all.
Jiang Feng had already grabbed several wet wipes, raised his large hand, and carefully wiped away the blood on Ming Yue’s face, one spot at a time. “So it’s not that I’m afraid to let Fu Qiancheng know—it’s you who dare not!”
Ming Yue remained silent, just sitting there in a daze.
Jiang Feng tossed the soiled wipes into a bag and began unbuttoning Ming Yue’s clothes.
At once, Ming Yue tensed up completely, glared at Jiang Feng, and whispered sternly, “You Jiang—what are you trying to do? This is in the middle of the street!”
As she spoke, she deliberately cast a few quick glances at the two Gu brothers, who were drawing closer and closer. Her small hands also gripped Jiang Feng’s large hand tightly.
Jiang Feng curled his lips into a faint smile and said, even more coldly, “What do you think I’m trying to do? Make a pass at you? Or force you?”
Ming Yue stayed silent, only tightening her body and holding onto his hand even more firmly.
Jiang Feng’s handsome brows furrowed slightly. With his other hand, he somehow produced a set of clothes out of nowhere and placed them before him and Ming Yue. “Are you really going to keep strolling down the street like this, covered in blood? Aren’t you afraid someone will beat you to death?”
Ming Yue’s grip on the man’s hand suddenly loosened.
It was as if she had already guessed what he meant.
Yet she still refused to budge, saying, “Even if I get beaten to death, it’s none of your business.”
The man sniffed sharply and said, his face stern, “Given your current situation, if you get beaten to death, it’ll be me who has to bury you.”
“Not interested. Rotting in the street is fine too—might even scare a couple of people to death.”
“Or I could arrange things ahead of time, have someone drop me off at the Ming Family Home. Then when they see me, they’ll all be scared stiff—that’d be quite a spectacle.”
Jiang Feng pressed his brow, no longer arguing with her. “Let go of my hand and change out of this bloody outfit.”
Ming Yue didn’t move.
So Jiang Feng added, “No one can see us from outside.”
In the next instant, Ming Yue’s little hand finally released its grip.
Jiang Feng, meanwhile, worked with practiced ease, quickly removing Ming Yue’s dirty clothes and carefully dressing her in the clean ones he had brought along, one piece after another.
A slight blush appeared on Ming Yue’s delicate face. Just as she was about to say “Thank you” to this man, she saw him bury his head in her neck. Before she could react, his cool, thin lips had already begun their assault on her collarbone.
“Surname…”
She didn’t finish her sentence, because Jiang Feng suddenly sank his teeth into her slender, pale neck, causing her such pain that she instinctively grabbed his hair. “Jiang Feng, are you crazy? You’re biting me again! Are you a dog?”
“I’ve been sick for ages—you already know that, don’t you?” A buzzing sound came from Ming Yue’s neck, carrying an inexplicable emotion. “Ming Yue, let me warn you once more: you can do whatever you want, but don’t actually get involved with that bastard!”
Ming Yue: …
Jiang Feng didn’t lift his head; instead, he buried it deeper in her neck, one large hand tightly gripping her slender waist while the other kept busy, his voice growing husky. “You promised me!”
Ming Yue gritted her teeth. “I remember.”
She hated this man’s habit of being overly physical.
But she still had a ten-year pact with this damn man.
Since the term hadn’t expired yet, she might as well pretend she was already dead.
Still, her words wouldn’t sound very pleasant, her expression wouldn’t look good, and her tone would be sharp and brittle—like glass shattering on the ground.
“Then stay away from him from now on—don’t make me unhappy!”
“As much as possible.”
“No, ‘as much as possible’ isn’t good enough—absolutely must stay away!”
“I can’t guarantee it.”
“Ming Yue!” Jiang Feng lifted his head.
Ming Yue wasn’t willing to back down either; she stared right back at him. “Jiang Feng!”
