Chapter 182: Counterattack 108
Lin Xi still remained silent.
Xiao Hu then took her hand again, looking left and right, before fixing his gaze on her lovely little face. Unable to resist, he leaned down and planted two quick kisses on her cheeks, saying proudly, “Besides, my sister is so beautiful—she’s like a flower! She doesn’t look a day over thirty at all. What man wouldn’t fall for someone like that?”
Hearing this, Lin Xi couldn’t help but feel delighted. But she immediately seized on the remark and asked, “What if I get old one day? What if I start looking like I’m in my thirties, forties, or even fifties? Will you still like me then? Will you go chasing after younger girls instead?”
“Are you worried about that, Sister?” Xiao Hu gently brought Lin Xi’s hand to his lips and kissed it, then lowered his head for another brief kiss. Grinning mischievously as he pinched her little face, he said, “Don’t worry about that, Sister. By the time you’re old, I won’t be young anymore either. I’ll stay by your side and grow old with you, slowly and steadily!”
“Bullshit! If I believed you, I’d be a fool,” she said, though the smile on her face was impossible to hide.
Xiao Hu didn’t bother to explain further. Instead, he rubbed his nose against her cheek, planted a few more kisses, and then leaned close to her ear, whispering something in a low, murmuring voice.
At first, Lin Xi had been listening attentively, but when he got to those parts, she simply couldn’t take it anymore. Her face turned bright red, and she grabbed the soft flesh of his waist tightly, exclaiming, “You little rascal, shut up already! No more nonsense!”
“Alright, alright, Sister! I’m telling the truth—I’m not making any of it up!” Xiao Hu raised his hand in a solemn oath, as if afraid she wouldn’t believe him. He even added deliberately, “He really only likes you, and he’ll only change for you. Why don’t you try it out for yourself?”
“You’re shameless!”
Lin Xi’s face was burning with embarrassment.
But Xiao Hu just grinned triumphantly, pressing his thin lips against her ear and coaxing her gently, “What’s there to be shy about with my sister? As long as we’re happy, that’s all that matters!”
Lin Xi closed her eyes.
Yet Xiao Hu had no intention of stopping there. After a long, careful probing and gradual exploration, he finally got exactly what he wanted—and now, holding the woman he adored so tightly that he could almost bite her, he cooed softly, “Sister, we’ve already got our Wedding home/apartment. Once Sao Zi’s big event is over, let’s go straight to the marriage registration, okay?”
“Why are you so eager to get married? I’m older than you—I’m not rushing at all. Why are you so impatient?” Lin Xi shot back, her eyelids too heavy to even open. She was utterly exhausted.
Xiao Hu replied in a gentle, soothing tone, “Of course you’re not in a hurry, Sister. With your amazing qualities, all it takes is a little bit of information being released, and countless good men will be lining up to court you. How could I not be anxious? What if someone else snatches you away before we can get married? In this lifetime, I’ll only ever meet one Xixi like you. If some other guy steals you away, who’s going to give me back a sister as beautiful and as perfect for me as you?”
It seemed deliberate—he deliberately emphasized the word “perfect” when he said this long speech, and both of them knew exactly what he meant.
Especially after what he’d just said a little while ago, Lin Xi understood all the more clearly. Her rosy cheeks flared up once again, and she promptly bit his shoulder, saying, “No more nonsense!”
“Alright!” Xiao Hu immediately agreed, his eyes crinkling into crescent-shaped smiles.
But before long, he asked again, “Sister, Xixi, have you given any thought to what I just said? Don’t worry—after we get married, you won’t have to do a thing. I’ll handle everything inside and outside the home by myself, and I’ll take care of earning money and supporting the family all on my own. All you need to do is live each day happily, doing whatever makes you happy. You don’t have to worry about anything else. Plus, I don’t have parents—I only consider Feng Ge as half an elder relative, so after we get married, there won’t be any mother-in-law conflict at all. And I’m still young, full of energy and stamina. If we have children after we get married, apart from the hard work of childbirth, I’ll take care of everything else. I’ll never let you get tired or bothered.”
