Chapter 25: I’m a Bastard

Chapter 25: I’m a Bastard

Ming Yue deliberately emphasized “that thing” with extra force, as if to remind him of something.

To make this little brat believe her, she even leaned in closer and briefly recounted the very thing he feared most—his parents finding out.

Liu Lai’s pale face instantly turned ashen, his teeth clenched so tightly they chattered.

He glared furiously at Ming Yue, yet dared not utter a single harsh word, let alone muster the courage to call for his parents’ help.

All he could do was secretly add another level to the myriad ways he’d previously devised to torment Ming Yue—making it ten million plus one.

Would Ming Yue really fail to notice?

Although she couldn’t guess what this little rascal was thinking, it was easy to tell he was cursing her under his breath.

Was she afraid?

As if!

Ming Yue chuckled softly, took two sips of water, and asked the kid, “So, how about it, Little Lai Lai? Are you going to save face, or are you going to let your parents beat you?”

“You crazy woman, fine, I lose! I’ll shout it out! But mark my words—this debt will be repaid one day. Not only will I make you stand in front of everyone and shout those words I told you to say three hundred times, but I’ll also make you kneel on the ground and bark like a dog, crawl like a dog, and even eat dog poop!” Liu Lai shot back, seething with hatred.

Ming Yue shrugged nonchalantly and said, “You’ve got some spunk—that’s exactly what I like! Stop stalling. Since you’ve made up your mind, get started already! I’ll give you three counts. If you don’t start shouting, I’m going straight to your parents’ room to have a little chat with them about the ‘good deed’ our Little Lai Lai has done!”

With that, Ming Yue began counting.

“One!”

Ming Yue narrowed her eyes and smiled, holding up one finger.

Liu Lai’s fists were clenched so tight they bulged.

“Two!”

Ming Yue held up two fingers and waved them in front of Liu Lai.

Liu Lai’s ashen face grew even uglier. He really wished he were a martial arts master from a TV drama—then with a single sword strike he could pierce this madwoman’s heart, followed by a swift slash to chop her to pieces, just to see how she’d still dare act crazy afterward.

“Three!”

Ming Yue had already raised her third finger.

Seeing that Liu Lai still hadn’t opened his mouth to shout, she yawned, showed no sign of waiting any longer, and turned to walk toward Liu Qinxin and Ming Shuo’s room.

That room had once been her mother’s—a marital bedroom shared by her mother and that scoundrel, Mr. Ming.

At this moment, the pair of dog-like lovers inside probably weren’t even dressed yet.

Just thinking about it made Ming Yue feel sick.

But to get the little bastard behind her to finally shout, she forced herself to push through the nausea and walked over, quietly calling out, “Mr. Ming, let me tell you something…”

Liu Lai had already been wildly gesticulating at Ming Yue’s retreating figure dozens of times, but now he couldn’t hesitate any longer. He hurriedly called out, “Stop! I’ll shout exactly as you said!”

“Now we’re talking!”

Ming Yue immediately stopped in her tracks, no longer moving forward. She stood there, leaning against the pristine white wall of the corridor.

Liu Lai’s nostrils were flaring with anger, yet at Ming Yue’s signal, he bellowed, “I’m a liar! I’m a tattletale! I’m a bastard! I’m a turtle-son bastard!”

Three shouts in a row!

The voices boomed like thunder, each one crisper and louder than the last, waking up the entire Ming household and drawing everyone out. Even the “comatose” Ming Xia wasn’t left behind.

One by one, they yawned their way outside, staring wide-eyed at Liu Lai, whose face was ashen as iron, completely baffled as to what had happened.

Of course, Housekeeper Zhao didn’t show up.

She was the most alert of all; though she lived downstairs, those loud three shouts were sure to reach her ears. No doubt her first reaction would be to wonder where she could hide next.

Liu Qinxin, who hastily threw on her pajamas, was even more frantic as she rushed out, running straight to her son and asking, “Lai Lai, what’s wrong with you?”
