Chapter 77: Counterattack 3

When Liu Qinxin and Ming Shuo both rushed to the hospital, only Ming Yue and the beautiful female bookstore owner were outside the ward.

Ming Yue was playing a mobile game, completely absorbed in it and too lazy even to lift her eyelids.

The beautiful female bookstore owner said nothing, just nodded at Ming Shuo and Liu Qinxin, then quietly slipped out of the room, leaving the space to the Li family.

Liu Qinxin didn’t even glance at her; she immediately threw herself by the bedside, grabbing her daughter’s hand and examining her from head to toe, carefully checking every detail of her unconscious daughter, Liu Jia.

There were no wounds anywhere—just a bump on her forehead, but it wasn’t broken.

Liu Qinxin’s heart, which had been pounding all the way, finally settled, yet her eyes remained bloodshot as before. Clenching her teeth, she turned to glare at Ming Yue, who was humming and singing as she played the game:

“What on earth is going on? Ming Yue, even if you hate me, resent me, or want to get back at me, you still shouldn’t target Jiajia like this!

What did she do wrong? What has she ever done to offend you? Treating her like this, hurting her like this—are you even human? Doesn’t your conscience hurt?”

“Pfft! You’re the one who isn’t human! Your whole family isn’t human—it’s beasts! It’s the third party! It’s the mistress! A whole brood of three!” Ming Yue paused her game, fixed her gaze on the furious Liu Qinxin, spat venomously, then raised a finger. “First of all, Liu Third Party, before you start spouting nonsense, please get the facts straight! Your precious daughter’s injury has absolutely nothing to do with me—she fell on her own. I only took her to the hospital for emergency treatment out of humanitarian concern. Instead of kneeling down to thank me, you’re accusing me unjustly—do you even have any shame? Are you even human? Were you born a beast? Pretty good at turning the tables, huh?”

Ming Yue launched into a tirade.

Liu Qinxin’s face instantly flushed red, her hand twitching as if she wanted to slap Ming Yue—she’d raised it several times, ready to smack her right across the face.

But seeing that Ming Shuo was still there and realizing she was no match for this crazy woman anyway, she knew striking out wouldn’t necessarily give her the upper hand, so she gritted her teeth and held back.

Ming Yue shot her a cold look, snorted inwardly, then raised a second finger. “Secondly, you’re just a lowly third party who climbed to power by stealing other people’s men—a filthy slut—and yes, you really are disgusting.

But what right do you have, what ability do you possess, to deserve my resentment?

Even if I’m going to hold a grudge, it should be against my own blind father.”

Ming Yue fired off another round of scathing words, dragging her own father—who’d disliked her from the moment he walked in—into the mix. She didn’t care what kind of look he gave her or how he acted; if he didn’t like it, let him come at her!

“So stop making a big deal out of yourself, okay?

In my eyes, you’re nothing but trash—someone everyone rides and sleeps with. The kids you bear are just fodder for people’s idle chatter. Do you really think I’d risk seriously injuring myself over you?”

Ming Yue stepped up the intensity, adding another layer of harshness, saying things that were downright ugly.

She didn’t care what kind of disgusted expression her blind father wore.

Liu Qinxin must have heard such vile words for the first time, nearly fainting. Her delicate face, already blurred with tears, turned bright red as she clenched her teeth and pointed a finger at Ming Yue: “You… you… you…”

“What? Did I pour shit into your mouth? Is that why you can’t even speak?”

Ming Yue fired off another barrage of insults.

But Liu Qinxin couldn’t utter a single coherent sentence. Her legs wobbled, and soon she collapsed into Ming Shuo’s arms, burying her head against his chest, clutching his clothes, and sobbing softly in his embrace.

It was as if she’d suffered an enormous injustice.

Ming Shuo immediately pulled her close and comforted her, while glaring fiercely at Ming Yue and sternly rebuking her: “Have you said enough yet?”
