Chapter 113: They Are Very Pure
Chapter 113: They Are Very Pure
Upon seeing the three characters “Song Yinyin,” Song Qingtian immediately knew what Song Yinyin had come for—no need to ask; she was here to stir up trouble.
Song Qingtian pretended not to notice, but Ling Hanyu glanced at her and then hung up the phone.
He checked the time—it was already getting late.
He still had some matters to attend to in the afternoon; after all, he’d left a pile of tasks behind when he came out.
“Let’s go back,” he said, not wanting to offer any further explanation. It seemed to him that this was just how he normally behaved.
As he started walking back, he didn’t walk very fast.
But Song Qingtian walked faster than him, which made his expression grow even darker.
When they got into the car, he reminded her, “You’re different now—walk a bit more slowly.”
Once inside, Ling Hanyu glanced at Song Qingtian sitting in the back and became even more displeased: “I’m not your driver, so why are you sitting in the back?”
Song Qingtian looked at Ling Hanyu in the rearview mirror and said, “Mr. Ling, why do you want me to sit there? Is it a symbol of status, or proof of some kind of identity?”
“You sure have a lot to say! Just sit where I tell you to—and come over here!”
Ling Hanyu was still in a huff. He pulled the car over to the side and waited for Song Qingtian to get out.
After hesitating for a moment, Song Qingtian finally walked to the front.
She sat in the passenger seat and buckled her seatbelt.
Feeling a bit drowsy, she squinted her eyes and soon fell asleep.
Ling Hanyu slowed down and kept glancing at the sleeping Song Qingtian in the rearview mirror, whose face was as beautiful as a flower.
Ling Hanyu couldn’t quite understand it—when did this woman become so captivating? Even her very aura was enchanting.
And even when she’s asleep, she’s still restless!
Ling Hanyu leaned against the side of the car as he drove, showing no rush to get back.
No matter how big the matter, everything revolved around him.
By the time the car returned to the office, it was already three o’clock in the afternoon. Ling Hanyu parked the car but didn’t get out.
It wasn’t for any other reason—just because Song Qingtian was sleeping so soundly that nothing could wake her.
He sent a message to Secretary Yang, telling him to handle things first and that he’d be back at the office later.
Just then, someone knocked on the car window.
Ling Hanyu thought it might be someone, but when he looked, it was Song Yinyin.
Thinking about Song Yinyin’s behavior, Ling Hanyu’s expression grew even darker.
He opened the door and stepped out, deliberately keeping the sound of the door closing as quiet as possible.
After closing the door, he didn’t linger—he walked toward the back of the car, and Song Yinyin followed him.
“Jiefu, there’s something I want to talk to you about—something concerning my sister—but I also feel it’s not quite right to bring it up like this.”
Song Yinyin looked rather troubled.
In fact, Ling Hanyu hadn’t really been paying attention to what Song Yinyin was saying, but when she stopped, he noticed anyway.
In the phone Song Yinyin was holding, there was a photo of Song Qingtian with another man.
Ignoring everything else, Ling Hanyu’s gaze fixed on Song Yinyin’s phone.
Song Yinyin noticed this and quickly moved the phone behind her back, deliberately hiding it from Ling Hanyu.
Ling Hanyu couldn’t care less. With a cold, deadpan expression, he snapped, “Hand it over!”
“Jiefu, actually, this may not be my sister’s fault. I saw that the man was driving a luxury car, and he does look… well, of course, he can’t compare to you, Jiefu!”
The more Song Yinyin talked, the more upset she became.
“Let me take a look.”
Ling Hanyu’s face was unusually grim. He wanted to see who it was.
Song Yinyin handed over the phone: “Jiefu, please don’t blame my sister.”
When the phone was opened, there were six or seven photos. On closer inspection, though, the poses were off—there was no embracing, no physical contact.
Still, Qin Xiaotian’s meeting with Song Qingtian struck a nerve with Ling Hanyu.
This woman…
Without hesitation, Ling Hanyu handed the phone back to Song Yinyin.
Before Song Yinyin even realized it, the photos had already been deleted.
“Jiefu, actually, this isn’t my sister’s fault—it’s that man’s. He must have known my sister was married, yet he still tried to seduce her. It’s his fault for ruining her.”
Ling Hanyu stared at Song Yinyin, his tone icy: “Good that you know. I’m married too, so don’t get too close to me. And in the future, don’t contact me—no matter what the reason or purpose.”
As Ling Hanyu turned to leave, Song Yinyin hurried after him: “Jiefu, that’s not what I meant! We’re different—we’re your niece-in-law and you’re my jiefu. Our relationship is pure!”
“Pure?”
Ling Hanyu stopped and turned to look at Song Yinyin coldly. She instantly felt embarrassed by the question.
“Jiefu, why are you looking at me like that? Aren’t my relationship with you completely clean?”
“Whether our relationship is clean or not, you know best—but others may not. You’ve reminded me that I shouldn’t have any contact with you, lest your sister misunderstand.”
“We’re perfectly clean!”
Song Yinyin wore an innocent expression.
Suddenly, Ling Hanyu realized the root of the problem: Song Qingtian’s misunderstanding was not without reason.
