Chapter 112: Do You Like Sons?
Chapter 112: Do You Like Sons?
The car came to a stop, and Song Qingtian glanced at the rearview mirror. Ling Hanyu’s face was deathly pale.
Song Qingtian looked around. They’d been driving for so long before finally stopping—must be pretty uncomfortable!
“Song Qingtian!”
As soon as she spoke, the tension was palpable.
Song Qingtian knew that today’s incident was inescapable now.
“Mr. Ling!”
Ling Hanyu’s expression was grim; he wanted to lose his temper, yet something felt off. Not losing his temper left him feeling stifled and uneasy.
Looking at the clean-faced Song Qingtian in the rearview mirror, she seemed so calm and indifferent—even exuding an air of pride. In the past, she’d been arrogant, overbearing, and downright foolish. But today…
A flicker of unease stirred within the transformed Ling Hanyu. The Song Qingtian who used to pounce on him as if she couldn’t help but bite him twice was gone. In her place stood a smart, wise, composed, and calculating Song Qingtian.
This new Song Qingtian was an improvement—she seemed like a normal person now.
Yet this very change made Ling Hanyu feel conflicted. On one hand, he didn’t want her to cling to him endlessly; on the other, he disliked her determination to walk away at all costs.
Just one word—“Mr. Ling”—revealed her resolve to leave.
Ling Hanyu released the steering wheel and stepped out of the car, letting out a sigh of relief.
Song Qingtian had been expecting Ling Hanyu to erupt in fury, but instead he got out of the car.
Song Qingtian wasn’t about to take any chances, but she wasn’t exactly afraid of what Ling Hanyu might do to her either. A little fear was natural—after all, everyone has a fear response.
Still, she wasn’t terribly afraid of Ling Hanyu. Deep down, she felt calm. If it weren’t for her daughter Nuonuo, what did Ling Hanyu even matter?
After standing outside the car for a moment, Ling Hanyu turned and looked inside. Song Qingtian had no intention of getting out—truly infuriating and hilarious! Had this woman taken a “heartless pill” or something? So cold and unfeeling!
He walked over to the car and knocked on the window.
Song Qingtian rolled down the window and saw Ling Hanyu, looking utterly relaxed as he watched her.
Was it about to begin?
“Get out and let’s take a walk.”
Ling Hanyu’s tone was calm and gentle, with not a trace of anger.
Song Qingtian hesitated for a moment before finally pushing open the door and stepping out.
She knew the importance of knowing when to back off.
Once she was out of the car, just as she was about to move, Ling Hanyu brushed against her—while one locked the car, the other tried to step aside—and they bumped into each other.
If you were to say what the original female supporting character still clung to, it would truly be only her body’s craving for Ling Hanyu.
Even her daughter, Ling Nuonuo, didn’t evoke a shred of reluctance from Song Qingtian.
But her craving for Ling Hanyu had reached an outrageous level.
Even the slightest touch could ignite the most primal desires deep within her body.
Song Qingtian was stunned!
Ling Hanyu’s hand pressed against the side of the car—unconsciously, too.
His hand holding the keys rose and gently rubbed against Song Qingtian’s neck. Just that light rub sent shivers through her, and she quickly pushed him away, taking a few steps to the side.
Ling Hanyu’s hand remained suspended in midair; when she pushed him away, he took a step back.
Yet when he turned to look at Song Qingtian, his brow furrowed.
Pushing him away?
Resisting his approach?
Was this woman really suppressing her body’s instincts just to distance herself from him?
“Weren’t we going for a walk?”
Song Qingtian had had enough. Every extra day spent near Ling Hanyu felt like torture.
Ling Hanyu took a step toward Song Qingtian, but she deliberately kept a half-meter gap between them.
Ling Hanyu had one hand in his pocket and the other idly twirling the car keys.
He didn’t say a word, nor did he look at Song Qingtian. His gaze was fixed straight ahead—or rather, not even at Song Qingtian. It felt as though his eyes had nowhere to rest.
Song Qingtian didn’t realize it; she was simply wondering whether Ling Hanyu wasn’t angry because she was pregnant, worried about affecting the pregnancy.
After all, the doctor had said her health wasn’t great. She needed to be extra careful with the baby.
Though the words weren’t stated so explicitly, the reality was plain to see.
She understood the situation perfectly.
Ling Hanyu understood it too—and it seemed he really wanted this child.
He believed it would be a boy!
Song Qingtian stopped suddenly.
Ling Hanyu passed her by, stopping two steps ahead, then turned to look at her.
“What’s wrong?” Everything was eerily calm, as if after enduring so much, everything had settled down.
Song Qingtian hesitated for a moment: “Do you like sons?”
Well, better to ask clearly. Knowing your enemy and knowing yourself ensures victory in every battle!
Ling Hanyu chuckled, didn’t answer, and turned to keep walking.
Song Qingtian followed listlessly behind, already forgetting what had just happened—until Ling Hanyu’s phone rang.
Song Qingtian looked at the caller ID: Song Yinyin!
