Chapter 111: The Matter Is Far From Over
Upon seeing Ling Hanyu, Song Qingtian felt relieved. Now that Ling Hanyu had returned, she was safe.
Not to mention Ling Hanyu’s overwhelming power—none of these people would likely escape. Especially when Song Qingtian saw Ling Hanyu close the door, her conviction only grew stronger: Ling Hanyu would not let these people go unpunished.
As soon as Ling Hanyu appeared, the psychiatrist at the psychiatric hospital tried to explain that they had been deceived by Song Qingtian, a “madwoman,” and had come to Ling Hanyu’s home as a result. The turn of events was nothing short of earth-shattering.
Ling Hanyu stared coldly and impatiently at everyone present, his words dripping with sarcasm, which only made him even more displeased.
While on the phone, Ling Hanyu told Yang Yifan, “Let me look up the law that allows you to throw anyone who trespasses into a private residence into prison for over a decade.”
“Mister, I think you’ve got it all wrong. We didn’t trespass; we came here to arrest this mentally ill patient. She tricked us—there was a gas leak here, so we brought her back. If we hadn’t been fooled, she’d already be in the psychiatric hospital.”
Hearing this, Song Qingtian couldn’t help but laugh—still oblivious even at the brink of death.
Across from them, Ling Hanyu frowned slightly. “You all seem like madmen. Before arresting a mental patient, you don’t even bother to verify whether she really is one. You just call someone and have them come grab her? Then should we have you go after the president too? That’s some serious madness! I’m her husband—I don’t even know if she’s mentally ill. This is kidnapping!”
The room fell silent in an instant.
It seemed the staff from the psychiatric hospital realized they’d been used, and hurriedly tried to explain themselves to Ling Hanyu.
Ling Hanyu kept a stern, icy expression as he glared at everyone present. “My wife is pregnant. If anything happens to her because of you, just wait and see.”
The arresting officers’ faces turned increasingly grim.
One of them still tried to negotiate, but unfortunately, once Ling Hanyu got serious, he was like a god of slaughter—showing absolutely no mercy.
The police arrived very quickly, and Yang Yifan had brought a lawyer as well, catching everyone red-handed on the spot.
Ling Hanyu remained unmoved by their pleas, charging them with multiple offenses. He didn’t believe they were genuine staff from the psychiatric hospital; he suspected they were imposters posing as kidnappers. After all, with his wife and child right there, and the baby growing inside her, if they succeeded in kidnapping her, the consequences would be unimaginable.
So these people were guilty of burglary and kidnapping for ransom. The situation suddenly became extremely serious.
The accused could offer no defense whatsoever. Even though some of them presented work permits from the hospital, those were swiftly dismissed one by one.
Ling Hanyu casually tossed the permits into the trash can, his disdainful, cold demeanor making it impossible to meet his gaze.
He handled the matter with ruthless efficiency and brutal methods.
No matter how desperately the others begged on their knees, Ling Hanyu remained utterly indifferent.
He cared only about what was in his heart and what he wanted to achieve—regardless of whether others lived or died.
Even if you have elderly parents to care for and young children depending on you, you’re still worse off than anyone else.
If he wants your life, you still have to give it to him.
This is Ling Hanyu—the man Song Qingtian sees as the ultimate strong, domineering, and merciless figure.
After the suspects were taken away, Ling Hanyu’s fierce, menacing aura softened ever so slightly.
Turning to Song Qingtian, he asked, “How are you feeling? Are you uncomfortable?”
Song Qingtian was still a bit afraid of this side of Ling Hanyu, since his cold, detached demeanor from just moments ago hadn’t completely faded yet. Especially when Ling Hanyu spoke, there was a hint of murderous intent in his voice.
Even a fool like Song Qingtian could feel it.
“I’m doing okay. I didn’t struggle when they grabbed me, and I didn’t have any problems being brought back either.”
Song Qingtian knew Ling Hanyu was worried about the baby in her womb.
She didn’t hesitate to make that clear to him, so he wouldn’t worry needlessly.
“Let’s go to the hospital and get checked out. Come on.”
Ling Hanyu’s temper was surprisingly good—Song Qingtian almost thought he was truly harmless, a complete change from just moments before.
But she reminded herself that it was all an illusion, and she mustn’t be fooled by it.
Sure enough, after they went to the hospital and were examined, everything turned out fine.
Ling Hanyu’s face, however, grew cold and terrifying once again.
Song Qingtian knew then that the matter was far from over!
