Chapter 110: Repaying Kindness with Enmity
The two stood for a while, then Song Qingtian went over to the sofa and continued scrolling through her phone.
For the first time, Ling Hanyu felt that Song Qingtian’s desire to leave him was written all over her face—whether or not she had a child made no difference.
With his hands clasped behind his back, Ling Hanyu smiled faintly.
The very thing he had been waiting for was finally about to happen.
But why on earth should he be willing?
In the afternoon, Ling Hanyu had another meeting, but he needed to step out for a bit.
Song Qingtian also realized that she should have her own life and couldn’t always stay by Ling Hanyu’s side—otherwise, what would be the difference between her and the original female supporting character?
The real question was: what could she even do? What was she capable of?
Just as she was lost in thought, her phone rang.
“Hello!”
The caller was unfamiliar, yet somehow she felt like she knew them.
“I’m downstairs at Ling Hanyu’s company. Come out.”
Then Qin Xiaotian hung up.
Song Qingtian looked utterly bewildered—why was he calling her again?
Originally, she hadn’t planned to meet Qin Xiaotian, but she couldn’t afford to cross him, and besides, she wanted to set things straight with him.
Leaving Ling Hanyu’s office, Song Qingtian headed downstairs.
As she stepped outside, she happened to spot Song Yinyin hiding by the entrance.
It had been half a month since they last saw each other, and Song Qingtian never expected Song Yinyin to show up—and even more surprisingly, to be lying in wait outside Ling Hanyu’s company.
The “Shengshi Bailian” brand had gone from a mental hospital all the way to the doorstep of the Ling Group?
Song Qingtian stopped in her tracks. She wanted to grab Song Yinyin, give her a good beating just like before, and then send her back to the mental hospital once again.
But before she could act, a car pulled up not far away.
Qin Xiaotian himself got out and leaned against the car, waiting for her.
“Over here!”
Hearing Qin Xiaotian’s voice, Song Qingtian still felt a bit reluctant.
Was that really how easy it was to let Song Yinyin go?
Still, she couldn’t keep Qin Xiaotian waiting.
Song Qingtian walked over to him, and Qin Xiaotian opened the car door, gesturing for her to get in.
“The land plot is now being planned. You can go take a look at your request.”
When the subject turned to that piece of land, Song Qingtian hesitated.
After all, the welfare institution there really did need protecting.
Qin Xiaotian motioned with his chin for Song Qingtian to get in, but she was still wavering.
“I’ve already given you five hundred thousand. Technically, you don’t have to help me anymore, but I did tell you the floor price of the land, and I even saved you twice—whether you admit it or not, it’s the truth.”
“So what?”
Qin Xiaotian was secretly hoping that Song Qingtian would say something.
“If you just leave the welfare institution alone, I’ll write off everything you owe me.”
“What if I refuse?”
“That’s repaying kindness with enmity.”
“Get in the car and we’ll talk.”
Qin Xiaotian clearly meant for Song Qingtian to get in—but she didn’t.
In the end, Qin Xiaotian received a call and had to leave immediately, yet Song Qingtian still refused to get in.
Only then did Qin Xiaotian get into the car and glance at her.
As Qin Xiaotian drove off, Song Qingtian was momentarily stunned. Across the street, Song Yinyin stood there, waving her phone at her.
Song Qingtian walked over, and Song Yinyin turned around and hurried away.
Right after that, a van from the mental hospital sped up.
Song Qingtian instantly realized what was going on: Song Yinyin was trying to have her committed to the mental hospital, just like before.
“Hurry!”
Several people jumped out of the van and swarmed toward Song Qingtian.
Song Qingtian didn’t move a muscle—she was pregnant, after all.
The men grabbed her and dragged her into the van, where she was quickly restrained with several straps. The van sped off, almost like a kidnapping.
Inside the van, someone tried to give Song Qingtian an injection.
Only then did Song Qingtian speak up: “Mom said to turn on the gas stove, but don’t light it!”
Everyone in the van was shocked.
They could put the injection aside for now; what mattered most was finding out the family’s address.
And so…
Ling Hanyu received the call and rushed home.
Seeing the van from the mental hospital parked at the gate, his expression darkened.
Song Yinyin really was no ordinary person.
Ling Hanyu called the police before entering the house.
Meanwhile, inside the villa, Ling Nuonuo stared coldly at the white-coated doctors standing before her.
Aunt Chen was equally furious, glaring at them.
Their Madam was perfectly fine—who said she had a mental illness? It was those guys who were crazy!
The standoff dragged on, and finally Ling Hanyu entered the house, locking the door behind him to prevent anyone from escaping.
Upon seeing Ling Hanyu, Song Qingtian breathed a sigh of relief.
At last, he was back!
