Chapter 127: The Right to Divorce
Chapter 127: The Right to Divorce
When Ling Hanyu arrived at Boland Park, her phone kept ringing but no one answered. It was Yang Yifan who called Ling Hanyu; Song Qingtian was waiting for her downstairs at the office, but her phone battery had died.
Ling Hanyu drove straight home, taking only half the usual time. Instead of going to the garage, she parked right outside the office building.
Song Qingtian saw Ling Hanyu get out of the car and immediately sensed something was wrong. Ling Hanyu walked over to Song Qingtian, grabbed her chin, and seemed ready to crush it: “You’ve been secretly meeting Qin Xiaotian behind my back?”
Yang Yifan lowered his head cautiously—General Ling’s reaction was truly explosive. If it were anyone else, he’d probably just ignore it! Even if Song Qingtian were his wife, if she could be cheating on him, he’d see it as an opportunity to break free from her. He wouldn’t fly into such a rage and feel like killing someone in revenge, as he did now.
Song Qingtian grabbed Ling Hanyu’s hand, trying to make him let go. It hurt so much—excruciating pain!
Ling Hanyu pressed hard: “Where’s that Qin fellow?”
Song Qingtian stared coldly at Ling Hanyu without answering, tears welling up in her eyes. She wasn’t about to give in to him. Ling Hanyu shoved Song Qingtian hard, nearly knocking her over. She steadied herself and immediately clutched her stomach, afraid something might happen.
Seeing her move like that only made Ling Hanyu angrier. Wearing high heels and protecting her belly—what was she thinking? “Using every possible means to get a divorce, Song Qingtian… you’ll never succeed!”
Ling Hanyu strode toward the office. Song Qingtian was so frightened that her stomach began to ache. Being pushed away just now had really scared her!
Yang Yifan looked at Song Qingtian and said, “Madam…”
“Don’t worry about me—I’m fine.”
With that, Song Qingtian hailed a taxi and got in, driving off.
Yang Yifan watched her leave before heading back himself.
Ling Hanyu waited in his office for Song Qingtian, only to receive a report from Yang Yifan: she had left without saying a word.
Ling Hanyu’s face grew icy: “What did you say?”
Yang Yifan realized he’d been careless. “I’ll go look for her.”
“Look for her? Where would I even start?”
Her phone was dead—how could he possibly find her?
Ling Hanyu stood up. “General Ling, we still have a company meeting tonight…”
“Hold it tonight.”
Ling Hanyu left the office to search for Song Qingtian. First, he called Aunt Chen, who said Song Qingtian hadn’t returned yet. After hanging up, Ling Hanyu searched the streets until three in the afternoon, when he finally found her.
She had just stepped out of a taxi, waiting at the school gate for Ling Nuonuo to finish class.
Ling Hanyu called Aunt Chen and asked her to pick up Nuonuo. When Aunt Chen arrived, Nuonuo hadn’t finished school yet—but Song Qingtian was quite surprised.
“Aunt Chen, what are you doing here?”
Aunt Chen replied, puzzled: “Mr. Ling called and told me to come!”
Song Qingtian realized Ling Hanyu was nearby and started looking around. She spotted Ling Hanyu’s car parked on the corner not far away and felt a twinge of worry—she certainly couldn’t stand up to him if they fought.
At that moment, Ling Hanyu also got out of the car and stood by it.
Song Qingtian looked at him, hesitating for a moment. She decided not to go over—domestic violence is either zero times or countless times; Ling Hanyu would never stop after just once.
The two locked eyes. Ling Hanyu called Aunt Chen, who handed the phone to Song Qingtian. But Song Qingtian didn’t want to take it.
Ling Hanyu’s face turned cold as he pointed at her, signaling her to answer the call.
Only then did Song Qingtian pick up the phone.
“Come over—we’ll talk this through. I’ve got other things to do.”
“I’m filing for divorce and hiring a lawyer.”
With that, Song Qingtian hung up and handed the phone back to Aunt Chen.
“Aunt Chen, I’m stepping out for a bit. If anything comes up…”
Before Song Qingtian could finish, Ling Hanyu was already standing in front of her. He grabbed her arm, gave her a quick glance, then turned to Aunt Chen: “Aunt Chen, pick up Nuonuo and take her home—don’t wander off.”
“Yes!”
Aunt Chen always took Nuonuo with a driver, which was much safer.
Ling Hanyu pressed Song Qingtian’s hand firmly in his own and pulled her toward the car. Song Qingtian tried to break free and even slapped Ling Hanyu twice, but he ignored her completely, dragging her all the way to the car until he opened the door and shoved her inside.
Song Qingtian turned to get out, but Ling Hanyu spun her around and blocked her exit. The two locked eyes, and Song Qingtian said coldly, “I have the right to divorce!”
“You don’t!”
As he spoke, Ling Hanyu tugged at his collar, pinched Song Qingtian’s chin, and kissed her!
