Chapter 128: She Doesn’t Want to Do It

Song Qingtian was in a daze.

Ling Hanyu kissed her repeatedly before slowly pulling away, his breathing growing heavier and heavier.

“I have to go to a meeting. Whatever happens, we’ll talk about it when I get home tonight.”

With that, Ling Hanyu fastened Song Qingtian’s seatbelt, pushed the car door shut, and walked around to get into the driver’s seat.

Once in the car, Ling Hanyu glanced at the dazed Song Qingtian—what was she thinking, eyes downcast?

“Want some more?” Ling Hanyu couldn’t help but laugh at how annoyed he was, still glancing at Song Qingtian.

“Let’s save it for tonight!”

Song Qingtian looked at Ling Hanyu; she didn’t say a word.

But she sensed something odd about him—was this a compromise?

How could it be?

Song Qingtian leaned against the car and rubbed her head.

The original female supporting character had gone to great lengths and still hadn’t gotten anything, yet here she was, getting it without doing a thing!

Ling Hanyu glanced at Song Qingtian in the rearview mirror: “Tired?”

Song Qingtian really was tired—she’d been to the hospital for all sorts of tests and even bought some medicine, only just coming out now.

The doctor said the baby seemed fine.

But she still needed to be careful!

Song Qingtian remained silent, and Ling Hanyu didn’t say another word either.

Yet Song Qingtian couldn’t help but think: if the baby were born, she definitely wouldn’t give it to him.

Still, she wanted this baby!

Divorce was inevitable.

She had to get divorced before the baby was discovered!

When the car arrived outside the company building, Ling Hanyu got out.

Song Qingtian, however, didn’t move.

“Get out of the car.”

Ling Hanyu called to her.

“I’m sleepy. I’ll take a nap, and you can leave work soon after.”

Song Qingtian really didn’t want to go to the office.

She’d be alone, facing a group of people who were out to get her.

Especially that project manager—who’d trip her up once, he’d do it again. She wasn’t alone, after all; she had to think about the baby.

But Ling Hanyu wouldn’t budge: “Get out! Go upstairs and sleep.” He simply pulled open the car door and bent down to unbuckle her seatbelt.

Song Qingtian had no choice but to get out and follow Ling Hanyu into the company.

Ling Hanyu walked quickly, while Song Qingtian, wearing high heels, didn’t dare keep up.

Ling Hanyu looked at her: “Are your feet uncomfortable?”

“Mm-hmm!”

Ling Hanyu asked, and Song Qingtian had nothing else to say, so she just agreed casually.

Ling Hanyu turned back and bent down to pick her up in a piggyback hold.

Song Qingtian was startled and grabbed onto Ling Hanyu’s clothes, wrapping her arms around his neck.

She was terrified of being dropped!

She herself might not mind being tossed, but the baby came first!

Ling Hanyu chuckled: “What are you doing? Deliberate?”

Song Qingtian pouted: “My shoes are too high!”

Ling Hanyu glanced at Song Qingtian’s high heels, assuming she was trying to make up for her shortcomings and find some kind of equality with him: “It’s okay!”

Song Qingtian entered the company and immediately hid her face in Ling Hanyu’s embrace. Ling Hanyu looked down at her: “Am I embarrassing you?”

“No!”

Song Qingtian didn’t think Ling Hanyu was embarrassing her; she was just embarrassed to appear like this.

“Then what is it?”

“Being carried like this is embarrassing!”

Ling Hanyu paused for a moment, and Song Qingtian quickly clutched onto him.

She was afraid of being dropped.

“Being carried like this is embarrassing?”

Ling Hanyu’s face was extremely displeased.

“I can’t explain it clearly—forget it!”

Song Qingtian didn’t want to explain; she leaned against Ling Hanyu’s chest: “I want to go downstairs.”

Ling Hanyu held her as they walked toward the elevator.

Only once inside the elevator did Song Qingtian finally let go.

As soon as the doors opened, Ling Hanyu stepped aside and led her straight to the office.

Song Qingtian entered the room and immediately wanted to rest.

Seeing a pair of flat slippers by the sofa—she remembered she’d brought them earlier and put them on.

Walking like this was much safer.

Ling Hanyu glanced at her: “Take the documents with you and go to the conference room.”

Song Qingtian felt as if she’d heard about a whole new world.

She looked at Ling Hanyu with a very strange expression.

“Didn’t you say I should sleep?”

“We’ll sleep later.”

Ling Hanyu turned toward the door, and Song Qingtian stared at the documents, then at the slippers on her feet.

After weighing her options, she picked up the files and followed him.

During the meeting, they were bound to run into that development department manager—what if something went wrong?

Ling Hanyu stepped into the elevator and glanced at Song Qingtian’s slippers: “Who told you to wear slippers?”

“I did!”

Song Qingtian said confidently.

Ling Hanyu looked at her and burst out laughing, utterly exasperated.

Song Qingtian handed the documents to Ling Hanyu: “You help me—I’m so tired!”

The doctor had advised avoiding overexertion, so she didn’t want to do anything.

Ling Hanyu looked at the papers in his arms: “Then kiss me!”

Without a second thought, Song Qingtian reached over and pulled down the collar of Ling Hanyu’s shirt, planting a kiss on it.
