Chapter 194: Secret Filming

Song Qingtian was waiting at the entrance of Song Haichang’s home, and when she saw Bai Ge, she still felt a bit uncertain.

She knew Bai Ge only from novels.

Bai Ge was indeed quite pretty, smart, well-proportioned, and well-maintained, which made her look much younger. She also had great social skills; within the Song Family circle, she could win over all the female relatives, making them willing to serve her—this was clearly her strength.

As a result, Song Haichang always did exactly as Bai Ge said, because following her would bring him whatever benefits he desired. This idea had become deeply ingrained in Song Haichang’s mind.

After waiting for a while, Song Qingtian finally saw Bai Ge come out of the house.

She was sitting in a taxi, and as soon as she spotted Bai Ge stepping outside, she signaled the driver to follow.

The taxi driver glanced at Song Qingtian in the rearview mirror and grew worried that she might be trying to kidnap Bai Ge. He asked a few questions.

“Are you two related?”

Song Qingtian’s ability to detect deception was unmatched; even a single glance from the driver told her exactly what he was thinking.

“If we’re related, I’m not sure either, but I’m here for my mother. This woman is my father’s first love. My father has always been very close to her, but lately my mother hasn’t been doing well—she’s got cancer and doesn’t have much time left. The only thing she wants now is to see my father. In fact, my father had already arrived home, but then this woman called him away. My mother refuses to take her medicine and spends every day crying. The doctor says she won’t last much longer, so I have to do everything I can to fulfill all her wishes.”

Song Qingtian let tears well up in her eyes to show how heartbroken she was.

“What’s the point of keeping someone like that around?” the driver urged.

“I think so too,” Song Qingtian replied, “but my mother is just too stubborn, and I can’t bear to see her suffer. Right now, all I want is to get in touch with my father. I don’t care what he’s doing with this married woman out there—just letting us meet one last time would be enough. But this woman not only warned me not to look for my father anymore, she’s also blocked all communication between us. In fact, I know she’s waiting for my mother to pass away so she can seize our family’s property. It may not be much—only a few million—but I’ve got a five-year-old little brother. My fiancé won’t agree to me taking sole responsibility for raising him; he wants my brother to inherit from my mother. Yet my father says my brother isn’t his child—he’s just something my mother insisted on having all by herself.”

The driver grew increasingly angry: “How can there be such a man? That’s really outrageous! Young lady, I’m a father myself. Men can be unreliable sometimes, but someone as unreliable as your father is truly rare. Don’t worry—I’ll help you find him no matter what. With my skills, there’s absolutely no problem.”

“Thank you!” Song Qingtian exclaimed, feeling as though she’d finally met her father, since he, too, was a driver. Tears streamed down her face.

“Stop crying! Don’t be so anxious,” the driver reassured her.

He couldn’t help but feel sorry for Song Qingtian.

Song Qingtian nodded and said, “I haven’t seen my father in ages. You look so much like him.”

The driver shot her a cold look: “Your father is really unreliable!”

“But I believe he’ll change his mind,” Song Qingtian said, wiping her tears.

After the driver left, Song Qingtian quickly set to work. As soon as Bai Ge stepped out of the taxi, she headed straight for the hotel entrance. The driver remarked, “This must be it—the hotel is the perfect place to hide people like this.”

Song Qingtian nodded and paid the fare before getting out of the car.

Before Bai Ge even entered the hotel, Song Qingtian scanned the area for any members of Chen Jianxiu’s group.

The driver reminded her from the window, “Young lady, you should record this. Bigamy is illegal, so you need to learn how to protect your rights through the law. If they treat you and your mother like this, you’ve got to fight back hard!”

“Thank you,” Song Qingtian replied.

She had already prepared everything—of course she wanted to record it. Why else would she be here?

So after the driver left, Song Qingtian began filming.

Bai Ge entered the hotel and headed straight for the room she was going to stay in.

Once inside, Song Qingtian arranged for a room key. First, she followed the waiter to Bai Ge’s room, deliberately asking whether the lady who had just checked in was staying in the best suite. The hotel staff refused to disclose that information, but as Song Qingtian was walking upstairs, she slipped them five hundred yuan, and they finally revealed the location. They even told her that using Bai Ge’s room key, she could unlock the door to the next room.

Song Qingtian didn’t hesitate to give another five hundred yuan, and only then were the staff satisfied and left.

When Song Qingtian reached the room, she listened carefully at the door to make sure everything was quiet, then quietly opened the door and slipped inside.
