Chapter 209: The Rabbit Dance
Chapter 209: The Rabbit Dance
Song Qingtian’s breath nearly stopped.
When had Ling Hanyu returned? How come she hadn’t noticed a thing?
Ling Hanyu smiled faintly. “Are you feeling amorous?”
Song Qingtian wasn’t mortally offended—she just wore an ugly expression.
“You’re the one feeling amorous!”
With that, Song Qingtian tried to walk away, but Ling Hanyu grabbed her hand and dragged her toward the seaside.
Song Qingtian had always believed in the principle that a wise man doesn’t fight when the odds are against him. After tugging twice, Ling Hanyu didn’t force her, so Song Qingtian went along with him to the beach.
Only when they reached the water’s edge did Ling Hanyu release Song Qingtian’s hand. Song Qingtian rubbed her hand and glanced at Ling Hanyu.
She wasn’t some broken-down car that needed to be towed around every other minute.
Ling Hanyu’s expression was calm. Song Qingtian realized what was going on and looked over, but saw nothing.
Instead, Ling Hanyu walked toward where the waves were crashing.
Song Qingtian almost followed, but when she saw the waves coming in, she backed off—not because she wanted to get her shoes dirty.
Ling Hanyu stood at the water’s edge, letting the waves lap against his legs. Not only were his shoes soaked, but his pants were drenched as well.
Song Qingtian took two steps back, terrified of getting her shoes wet.
Calfskin leather hates being soaked in seawater.
She wasn’t Ling Hanyu; she couldn’t afford to throw money into the sea.
Ling Hanyu seemed to realize something and glanced sideways at Song Qingtian. She felt embarrassed and said, “My shoes are new.”
Ling Hanyu looked down at her clean shoes and stepped toward her.
Song Qingtian instantly understood—he wasn’t up to any good. She turned and ran.
Ling Hanyu’s lips curled into a smirk. “Running?”
Song Qingtian quickly bent over, pulled at her shoe, took it off, and tossed it aside.
Ling Hanyu froze for a moment, then dashed forward.
Seeing Ling Hanyu running toward her shoes, Song Qingtian lunged forward and wrapped her arms around him from behind, hugging his waist.
Ling Hanyu was momentarily stunned. Song Qingtian thought he’d confiscated her shoes, but instead he pushed her away and walked off.
Song Qingtian hurried after him. They tugged at each other, and Song Qingtian finally clung to one of Ling Hanyu’s legs, lying flat on the ground and refusing to get up.
Her image was ruined, her principles shattered.
Ling Hanyu kicked her leg, but Song Qingtian wouldn’t let go.
“Let go!”
Ling Hanyu looked down at Song Qingtian. Her collar was blown askew by the wind, and seawater had soaked her shirt, highlighting every curve of her body in his eyes—everything about her seemed tantalizingly close to emerging.
Ling Hanyu said coldly, “Let go.”
“I’m not letting go—unless you don’t touch my shoes.”
“If you don’t let go, how will you know whether I touched them or not?”
Song Qingtian wasn’t fooled. She simply held onto Ling Hanyu’s leg and refused to let go.
Ling Hanyu’s dark eyes landed on Song Qingtian’s neckline. “If you want to seduce me, get up. What’s the point of lying on the ground like that?”
“Who’s trying to seduce…”
Song Qingtian realized how fiery Ling Hanyu’s gaze was and quickly released her grip, glancing at her chest and covering it with her clothes.
Ling Hanyu chuckled. “I’ve seen worse.”
Song Qingtian didn’t answer and got up, covered in sand.
But the more this happened, the wilder and more exciting her off-road antics became.
Ling Hanyu reached out to touch Song Qingtian’s chin, and she shifted slightly.
For Song Qingtian, she hoped to rein in the original female supporting character’s physical desires toward Ling Hanyu.
In this situation, she didn’t want to make contact.
It would only trigger a chain reaction.
Ling Hanyu withdrew his hand and slipped it into his pocket.
They locked eyes, and Song Qingtian’s heart raced.
Ling Hanyu asked, “Just who are you, anyway?”
Song Qingtian lifted her gaze. “You don’t even know who I am?”
Ling Hanyu smiled and turned to walk away quickly.
Song Qingtian realized what he was up to—too late.
Bending down, Ling Hanyu picked up Song Qingtian’s pair of black calfskin shoes, turned around, held them behind his back, and stared at her.
His eyes were unfathomably deep, and a playful smile played on his lips.
Song Qingtian’s heart leapt into her throat. “Give them back!”
“If you want them back, you can dance a rabbit dance for me.”
Ling Hanyu stood there, clearly delighted.
Song Qingtian had no idea how to dance the rabbit dance—and she certainly didn’t remember whether the original female supporting character could do it.
Staring at Ling Hanyu, Song Qingtian said irritably, “Why should I dance the rabbit dance for you?”
“Because you like it.”
Ling Hanyu’s words unmistakably implied that the original female supporting character knew how to dance the rabbit dance—but Song Qingtian definitely didn’t. She came from an ordinary working-class family, raised by a single father, struggling even to put food on the table. What rabbit dance could she possibly know?
Yet the way Song Qingtian looked at Ling Hanyu made it clear he was testing her, doubting she was the original female supporting character, which is why he wanted her to dance the rabbit dance.
Song Qingtian hesitated. “Then I won’t dance for you either!”
Ling Hanyu slowly approached, raising the shoes as if to toss them into the sea.
Song Qingtian panicked and shouted, “Dance! I’ll dance!”
