Chapter 217: Acting on a Plan

As the wild dancing intensified, people around them tried to get closer and pull at Song Qingtian, but Shen Conghao held her tightly, even getting into a scuffle and hitting someone.

Since they couldn’t beat Shen Conghao, the others had no choice but to back off.

Only then did Shen Conghao take Song Qingtian over to get something to drink.

The two sat in a corner, with the waiter bringing their drinks, while many eyes kept peering over. They were simply too stunning—men and women alike all turned their gazes toward them.

Song Qingtian drank a bottle of beer, set it down, and grabbed Shen Conghao’s hand, writing in his palm.

Shen Conghao slowly raised his eyes to look at Song Qingtian; his gaze remained cold and indifferent.

It seemed like Song Qingtian was flirting, but in reality she was communicating with Shen Conghao—asking him if he’d noticed anyone suspicious.

Shen Conghao’s lips curled into a sinister smile as he leaned down and whispered in her ear, appearing to kiss and flirt, but actually talking to her. He pointed out several directions for her, which made Song Qingtian a bit annoyed—she didn’t like people blowing in her ear.

To Song Qingtian, Ling Hanyu’s habit was a nasty one—left behind by the original female supporting character.

But Shen Conghao’s way of doing things? She just couldn’t get used to it.

Ear sensitivity wasn’t something you could just tell yourself to ignore. Once it was touched, who could control who it was?

Shen Conghao smiled faintly as he left, his lips slightly upturned, then looked at Song Qingtian: “I’m going to the restroom.”

As Shen Conghao stood up and walked away, Song Qingtian saw that he wasn’t heading to the bathroom—he was off flirting with another woman.

She pretended not to notice and started fiddling with her fingers.

Just then, someone began to approach.

Through Song Qingtian’s headphones, a voice said, “This person is cleared of suspicion; he has an alibi.”

Song Qingtian looked up at the speaker, observing calmly. If she confirmed it wasn’t the case, she’d ignore it—but she still saved the contact information.

When she was studying, Song Qingtian had picked up a bit of psychology, so she could often sense the motives behind certain crimes.

After adding the person as a friend, the first thing Song Qingtian did was check their social media feed, browsing through their posts.

If there was nothing interesting, she moved on to other targets.

After several unsuccessful attempts, Song Qingtian turned her attention to where Shen Conghao was. Just as she was looking over, someone spoke through her headphones, and someone else approached from the opposite side. From their angle, they couldn’t see what the person had done—the drinks on the table were blocking the view.

Song Qingtian still ignored it, leaning forward in her chair to watch Shen Conghao.

At that moment, Shen Conghao was being pestered by a heavily made-up woman. Their behavior seemed rather intimate—Shen Conghao wasn’t holding her, but she had her arms wrapped around his neck.

Song Qingtian smiled, stood up, and left her chair to go find Shen Conghao.

On the way, she grabbed a bottle from the table, tucked it behind her back, and walked past. When she reached them, she suddenly struck the woman without warning.

The woman’s head split open, bleeding profusely, and she stared at Song Qingtian.

But as soon as she saw Song Qingtian, she collapsed to the ground.

Song Qingtian aimed the broken bottle at Shen Conghao: “Looking for trouble?”

Shen Conghao looked at Song Qingtian, his expression still cold, but he kept staring at her. Song Qingtian let go of the bottle, and it fell to the floor. Then she grabbed Shen Conghao by the collar and pulled him back to their original seat.

Meanwhile, the woman who had been flirting was already gone.

Song Qingtian pushed Shen Conghao back into his seat, straddled him, and leaned down.

She whispered in his ear.

Shen Conghao wrapped both arms around Song Qingtian, pulling her close.

He looked up at Song Qingtian, and their eyes met. Song Qingtian stared back, surprised: How could he be so unprofessional—even when solving a case?

Shen Conghao’s hands moved twice, then he turned his face away. At that moment, Song Qingtian also noticed someone standing to the side.

Qin Xiaotian?

Song Qingtian groaned inwardly—what bad luck!

The Old Steward stepped forward, ready to intervene. Song Qingtian picked up the bottle and smashed it: “Get lost! Trying to steal my man—you must be bored with life!”

Qin Xiaotian looked at Song Qingtian thoughtfully: “He’s my man—how can you compete with me?”

“I don’t care whose man he is. If I’ve set my eyes on him, he’s mine!”

With that, Song Qingtian stood up, threw the bottle at Qin Xiaotian, and dragged Shen Conghao away.

Qin Xiaotian dodged to the side, and the bottle hit someone else.

The Old Steward looked over and saw that the person’s head nearly exploded—but luckily, the young master had dodged in time.

Still…

How could the young madam be dressed like this?

Song Qingtian pulled Shen Conghao away, deliberately taking the back door—this had been part of their plan all along.

But right at the entrance, Shen Conghao was pinned down by someone.

Song Qingtian wanted to turn back, but seeing someone chasing them, she ran out instead.

However, when she reached the back alley, she ran into a drunken man.
