Chapter 22: Embrace Freedom, Embrace You
Chapter 22: Embrace Freedom, Embrace You
“Let’s go!”
With that, Ling Hanyu immediately stood up and headed for the door. Just as he reached the entrance, he turned back. “Keep an eye on Nuonuo’s social media feed, and look into rental listings—install cameras near every place Song Qingtian has ever rented. Also, notify the bank to freeze all of Song Qingtian’s accounts!”
“Yes.”
Despite her confusion, the Assistant quickly stepped out the door.
Only then did Ling Hanyu feel a little better. In the past, whenever Song Qingtian ran away from home, she would simply disappear without a trace. This time, though, she’d at least made a small step forward by kidnapping his daughter.
But if she kidnapped his daughter, would he really beg her to come back?
No way!
He’d first freeze her accounts, then watch on surveillance as she gradually gives in and returns in disgrace.
The next day.
After coaxing Nuonuo into a nap, Song Qingtian couldn’t wait to fire up a lively chat with her girlfriends. She and Jia Shuangshuang lay on the sofa, each applying a face mask, when Jia Shuangshuang started praising her: “The fact that you voluntarily left the divorce agreement behind is a huge step forward in life!”
“How did you suddenly see the light?”
“Maybe I’ve found a new goal in life,” Song Qingtian replied. The moment she thought of Qin Zhengxiao, a smile crept onto her lips. Indeed, Qin Zhengxiao was the crush of every modern girl in the 21st century—only Song Qingtian had been too stubborn before, still pining for Ling Hanyu.
“What new goal have you found? Qin Zhengxiao?”
Jia Shuangshuang stared at Song Qingtian curiously, but Song Qingtian just winked at her. “It’s a secret—for now.”
The previous main character had caused so much trouble and been thoroughly humiliated in front of their friends that they’d become a laughingstock. Not Song Qingtian—she was determined to rebuild her image and become a hero.
“Well, since you’re so happy, let’s order some high-calorie grilled chicken wings and a Coke to celebrate!”
With that, Song Qingtian peeled off the face mask, sat up, and began placing the order. After adding everything she wanted to the cart, she proceeded to checkout and chose to pay with her credit card.
But the page kept refreshing for ages, and suddenly it said the payment couldn’t be completed.
Song Qingtian was puzzled. She tried another credit card, but the same thing happened. After trying at least five times, she suddenly realized her card might have been frozen by Ling Hanyu!
Damn it! How despicable!
She’d thought that once she escaped Ling Hanyu, he wouldn’t be able to torment her anymore—but who would’ve guessed he’d even remotely control her from afar!
She wasn’t about to give in. She wanted McDonald’s, and she wanted a free life, too!
So what if her credit card was frozen? She could always rely on her friends to feed her!
“Shuang, order me a Big Mac Family Bucket, please. It looks like Ling Hanyu froze my card,” Song Qingtian said, feigning helplessness.
“Sure thing!”
Jia Shuangshuang didn’t think there was anything wrong with it at all and ordered the Family Bucket for Song Qingtian.
Just then, Jia Shuangshuang’s phone rang—her Company had called her to a meeting.
“I’m heading out now. Enjoy the Family Bucket on your own. I’ll even buy you meals for tomorrow and the day after—just hold strong and don’t give in to Ling Hanyu!”
“Of course I will!”
Seeing Song Qingtian’s proud reply, Jia Shuangshuang gave her a thumbs-up and left. On her way out, she tossed in a few sushi cakes for Song Qingtian, feeling completely satisfied.
Once she got downstairs, she realized that if Song Qingtian really was getting a divorce, her regular food deliveries would only be temporary—and she’d need to find Song Qingtian a steady source of sustenance.
Thinking this through, she logged into Song Qingtian’s Weibo account. Luckily, back when they were both obsessed with their idol, they’d exchanged account passwords so they could keep tabs on the idol’s updates around the clock and gather data for him. With those credentials, she was right in.
If Jia Shuangshuang told Qin Zhengxiao about the divorce, Qin and Song would probably need to test the waters before things could really move forward. But if she pretended to be Song Qingtian and posted a subtle hint on Weibo, their love story might take several big steps forward!
Jia Shuangshuang logged into Song Qingtian’s Weibo, found a heart-shaped picture online, and added the caption: “A sudden awakening—life without true love is wasted. From now on, embrace freedom, embrace you!”
How poetic!
Jia Shuangshuang praised herself and casually tagged Qin Zhengxiao in the comments.
This kind of hint was practically an open declaration!
