Chapter 221: Like and Dislike

Chapter 221: Like and Dislike

Song Qingtian woke up again, her waist and back aching.

But since Ling Hanyu wasn’t around, Song Qingtian felt much more at ease.

As long as Ling Hanyu didn’t bring up the subject of her first love, Song Qingtian felt absolutely no sense of crisis.

She went downstairs from the upstairs bathroom and changed into the new clothes that had been delivered.

She had planned to leave, but then she saw her daughter and Ling Hanyu playing downstairs. Ling Nuonuo was overjoyed, chasing after Ling Hanyu all over the place, with Aunt Chen there as well.

Song Qingtian looked at everyone downstairs in a daze—what on earth was going on?

“Mommy…”

Ling Nuonuo spotted Song Qingtian first. As soon as she saw her mom, she hurried toward the stairs.

Song Qingtian glanced at Ling Hanyu and started walking down from the upper floor, reminding her daughter not to run as she went.

“Nuonuo, be careful!”

“Oh!”

Ling Nuonuo deliberately walked very slowly, then came over to Song Qingtian.

Song Qingtian came down from the upper floor, picked up her daughter, and kissed her twice.

“Mommy, Daddy said this place is our home too, and he even said we’re going to live here from now on.”

Ling Nuonuo really liked Yunhai Pavilion—it had complete facilities and was even more beautiful.

There were plenty of places to play outside, and each room even had its own little toy house; she loved it.

Song Qingtian was puzzled and looked over at Ling Hanyu.

Ling Hanyu was standing right across from her.

The two locked eyes, and Ling Hanyu asked, “You don’t like it?”

“This place is way too big. Nuonuo’s still little; she needs a warm, cozy spot. Don’t you think it’ll feel cold if it’s too big?”

Song Qingtian wasn’t sure what others thought, but Yunhai Pavilion really was huge.

Maybe in the past she’d defended the original female supporting character, thinking she was pretty silly.

But now she realized that only someone without power or influence would think money was so important.

In the world of the wealthy, though, money isn’t really that big of a deal.

That’s the difference between having money and not having it.

The original female supporting character came from a rich family and never really understood the value of money growing up. She spent money like water because her parents were capitalists.

But maybe she felt that a place that was too big just wasn’t warm—like Tianhai Pavilion, which had lost its parents; staying there wouldn’t make any sense.

The bigger it was, the lonelier it felt.

And the original female supporting character’s idea was simple: living in the small villa Ling Hanyu had prepared for her would be much warmer.

With that thought in mind, Song Qingtian became even more convinced that big places weren’t necessarily good.

What’s so great about being empty and desolate?

Ling Hanyu chuckled. “Aren’t you the one who loves money?”

“If I don’t have money, I love it; but once I do, I don’t. Money is neither good nor bad—too much is bad, too little is bad. Right now I’m not short of money; even earning it slowly will be enough.”

Song Qingtian said this with a smile.

Ling Hanyu was puzzled. “What are you laughing at?”

“It’s actually a good thing when people keep an eye on you and try to scheme against you—it’s a great way to get rich.”

Whenever Song Qingtian thought about how Song Yinyin had caused her trouble, she’d turn the tables and demand that they pay up to settle things, which always put her in a good mood.

If she kept doing that, she could quickly amass a fortune of over 100 million.

Although 100 million wasn’t Song Qingtian’s ultimate goal, for someone like her who’d come from nothing, it was certainly no small sum.

Song Qingtian was already very satisfied.

Ling Hanyu’s expression grew increasingly grim. “If you dare to take any more risks, just wait and see what I’ll do to you.”

Song Qingtian, ever the sensible person, replied, “They won’t come after me, so I won’t go looking for trouble myself. But if they try to hurt me, I can’t just let them get away with it, can I?”

Ling Hanyu was furious.

He glared coldly at Song Qingtian. “I said no more messing around—and that means no more.”

After saying this, Ling Hanyu turned around and looked at Aunt Chen. “Aunt Chen, you don’t need to go back and clean up. We’ll just have a quick meal here and head back.”

“…Yes.”

Aunt Chen hadn’t expected Ling Hanyu to be so kind to Song Qingtian.

Just one sentence, and he was already planning to leave.

Before this, he’d definitely not said anything like that.

Sure enough, there’s a big difference between liking and disliking.

Earlier, Aunt Chen had been thinking about waiting until Song Qingtian woke up to ask her whether such a huge villa wasn’t too big. When Song Qingtian was here, she’d always cleaned by herself and never felt particularly tired—Ling Hanyu hadn’t made any special demands about cleaning.

But this place was just too big; there was no way she could handle it all on her own.

Now it was better this way—no need to go through all that hassle.
