Chapter 36: If You Won’t Feed Me, I’ll Eat You!

Secretary Yang saw Ling Hanyu walking out with a sullen expression—no need to guess; it had to be because of Song Qingtian. After all these years of serving Ling Hanyu, no one else had ever managed to make him lose his temper like Song Qingtian did.

He quietly stepped aside, afraid that Ling Hanyu might drag him along for the ride.

Ling Hanyu walked quickly, his mind consumed by vivid mental images of Song Qingtian and Qin Zhengxiao being all lovey-dovey. He didn’t even notice Secretary Yang’s little maneuver.

By the time he arrived at Yunfan Wetland Park, they had already finished eating. Song Qingtian was lying on a hammock, chatting with Jia Shuangshuang, while Nuonuo had already fallen asleep.

Ling Hanyu scanned the area but didn’t see Qin Zhengxiao, so he shot Aunt Chen a cold glance.

Aunt Chen felt completely baffled by the look—she had no idea what Ling Hanyu was up to. Still, she wasn’t about to provoke an angry Ling Hanyu, so she pretended not to notice him and gently rocked Nuonuo.

Song Qingtian wore a wide-brimmed sun hat and oversized sunglasses, and with her eyes closed, she didn’t even see Ling Hanyu. She kept chattering away, venting her frustrations.

“Shuangshuang, you wouldn’t believe it—this dog of a man, Ling Hanyu, has gone crazy lately. He kept talking about divorce, and now that I’ve agreed, he still won’t! Haha, what does he think he’s doing? Ugh, it’s gotten to the point where I can’t even go on a date with my own idol!”

Just as Jia Shuangshuang was about to reply, she spotted Ling Hanyu standing there like an iceberg right beside Song Qingtian. It was too late to warn her; all she could do was frantically try to signal her.

“Actually, I think Ling Hanyu isn’t so bad—he’s good-looking and rich, don’t you agree?”

Jia Shuangshuang said this loud enough for Song Qingtian to hear. Startled, Song Qingtian opened her eyes and was just about to ask if Jia had lost her mind when she caught sight of Ling Hanyu.

She jumped straight up in fright.

Jia Shuangshuang may often trash Ling Hanyu, but now that she was face-to-face with him, her legs went weak. Seeing that Song Qingtian had woken up, she quickly made a run for it.

Song Qingtian inwardly cursed her for being so unprincipled and stubbornly stared back at Ling Hanyu.

She wasn’t sure how much of their conversation the man had overheard, but judging by his expression, he’d probably heard it all. Oh well—let him hear it. It’s exhausting pretending with him all the time. If he snaps later, she’ll just file for divorce!

Song Qingtian took off her sunglasses and met his gaze coldly.

Seeing her reaction, Ling Hanyu instantly understood what she was thinking. He let out a cold laugh and refused to let her have her way. She wanted to get divorced and go on a date with Qin Zhengxiao? Dream on!

“I’m hungry.”

“Hungry? Go find Song Yinyin.”

Since their little charade had been exposed, Song Qingtian decided to stop pretending. She glanced at Nuonuo, who was still asleep, put her sunglasses back on, and lay down again, feigning sleep.

Ling Hanyu, amused rather than angry by her behavior, pulled over a stool and sat down next to Song Qingtian. His hand immediately reached out to touch her soft body.

Song Qingtian was shocked and slapped his hand away.

“Ling Hanyu, are you crazy? Do you have… ugh…”

Ling Hanyu felt like Song Qingtian was really driving him mad. Since nothing he did seemed right, he figured he might as well give in to his own desires.

Looking around, he saw that the area was sparsely populated, and since Song Qingtian liked cool places, she’d set up the hammock deep in the woods. So he simply zipped open the back of her dress and slipped his hand inside.

Song Qingtian struggled violently, but she couldn’t break free at all.

Ling Hanyu kissed her fiercely and domineeringly, leaving her barely able to breathe. Afraid that he might actually go berserk and punish her on the spot, she fought back with all her might.

But her body had already reacted—thankfully, Ling Hanyu hadn’t quite lost it yet. After a brief punishment, he finally let her go.
