Chapter 74: Embarrassing
Chapter 74: Embarrassing
Song Qingtian was carried into Ling Hanyu’s office and placed on the desk.
Song Qingtian looked utterly bewildered—what was she supposed to do, lying here like this?
She wasn’t some exhibit, after all!
Secretary Yang was equally taken aback; this was Director Ling’s desk, after all.
Putting someone on the desk—really?
Song Qingtian wanted to get down.
Ling Hanyu fixed her with a warning glare: “Stay put.”
Song Qingtian frowned. “This is a desk, not a chair—I want to get off!”
“I said sit there, so sit there.”
Ling Hanyu leaned in aggressively, disregarding Secretary Yang’s presence, and pressed both hands against Song Qingtian’s sides.
Song Qingtian was startled and pushed at his shoulders. “What are you doing?”
Secretary Yang kept his head lowered, too embarrassed to look any further.
Ling Hanyu stared intently. “Just sit here.”
“Fine, I’ll sit—but don’t lean so close! You’ve got plenty to do; go ahead and get busy. I can manage on my own!”
“Are you sure?”
“Absolutely!”
Song Qingtian nodded reluctantly.
Only then did Ling Hanyu stand up, clearly annoyed, and tugged at the collar of his shirt.
He’d gone to the auction venue today wearing a tie, which had already been loosened, and the tie itself was askew. Now he yanked it loose and tossed it onto Song Qingtian.
Song Qingtian instinctively reached out and grabbed the tie, tossing it aside with a look of disgust.
Ling Hanyu circled the desk a few steps, then turned around to see the tie lying on the floor.
“You threw it away?”
“Accidentally!”
Song Qingtian immediately reached over and picked the tie back up.
When you’re under someone’s roof, you have to bow your head—that’s just how it is.
Compared with life itself, dignity is worth nothing.
Ling Hanyu shot Song Qingtian a dark, menacing glance as he watched her small hand clutching the tie.
He stepped back toward the desk, startling Song Qingtian so much that she nearly jumped.
The next moment, Ling Hanyu lowered his head and gently took one of Song Qingtian’s hands.
Song Qingtian instinctively pulled away, terrified that he might chop off her hand.
She remembered how Ling Hanyu loathed the original female supporting character—he even harbored murderous intentions toward her. How could he not be afraid?
To grip her so tightly was downright brutal.
“You…”
“Shut up!”
Ling Hanyu wrapped his tie directly around Song Qingtian’s wrist and quickly tied a knot.
Once he’d finished, he let go and walked around the desk.
Song Qingtian stared at the tie bound around her wrist—it wasn’t half bad.
Damn it, can’t I undo this now?
Song Qingtian turned around. “Why did you tie this on me? Now I can’t wear it properly—it’ll wrinkle!”
Ling Hanyu had already pulled over a chair and sat down. Hearing Song Qingtian’s words, he raised his icy gaze and looked at her without answering, instead asking a counterquestion: “Do I lack the money for a single tie?”
