Chapter 27: Chapter 27
Vio Mansello’s gaze fell on the single sofa behind her, then returned to meet hers.
“You’ve been staring at that sofa,” the man said with a teasing smile playing on his lips. “Thinking of doing it on it?”
Qin Qinxi’s face flushed bright red in an instant.
What on earth was he thinking about all day long?
When had he noticed she’d been looking at that sofa?
Seeing her blush, Vio let out a low chuckle.
He sat up, and before Qin Qinxi could even react, one hand wrapped around her waist while the other slipped under her knees.
In the next second, he hoisted her into his arms, cradling her like a child.
She didn’t even have time to say a word before he settled himself onto the single sofa.
He lifted one of her legs over, positioning her face-to-face with him.
The large towel draped over her body had already come loose.
Flustered, she reached out to tug at it, trying to pull it higher.
Vio leaned back against the sofa, his hands resting on the armrests as he watched her fumble helplessly.
There was no longer any white cotton—both of them were now clad only in the big towel.
He could feel it.
Vio’s eyes grew dark as he looked at her, a sly smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Qin Qinxi nearly lost her balance and hastily reached out to steady herself against his broad chest, while the other hand pressed down on the towel covering her chest.
She bit her lower lip, her ears burning as she met his gaze.
And what did she see? He was smiling.
A wicked, mischievous smile.
Qin Qinxi realized this was the perfect moment to get on his good side.
After all, once they stepped off the bed, he might revert to his cold, aloof demeanor and start brandishing a gun to scare her at the drop of a hat.
She wanted desperately to ask what he did for a living, but after thinking it over, she didn’t dare.
So she’d start with his name instead.
After all, if she ever had to address him, she certainly couldn’t just call him “Hey.”
She swallowed hard and spoke softly, “I… how should I address you…”
The man raised an eyebrow.
Instead of answering right away, he lifted one hand from the armrest and gently took hold of her wrist.
Qin Qinxi shuddered.
His rough palm slowly traced her wrist, sliding up her arm until it rested on her shoulder.
His gaze followed his own hand.
A deep voice rang out: “What do you think?”
Qin Qinxi frowned.
What did she think? How could she possibly know? How could she possibly know what his name was?
His restless hand slid down her spine, while the other hand moved upward, gripping her leg.
Qin Qinxi couldn’t help but tremble.
“I… my name is Qin Qinxi,” she stammered, her voice shaking.
Vio looked straight into her eyes.
She continued, “I… I, I want to know how I should address you… since, since I’m now your person…”
“You’re a Slave,” the man interrupted coldly. “So what do you think I should be called?”
Vio stared at her, his eyes narrowing slightly.
He couldn’t help but question her identity all over again.
Perhaps she really was a female agent, pretending to be meek in front of him while secretly plotting something.
He could tell.
She was asking for his name; she was trying to gather information about him.
Qin Qinxi’s heart sank as their eyes locked.
The playful glint in his eyes moments ago had now turned icy cold.
What had she done to upset him now? All she’d asked was how to address him!
“Get out,” the man said coldly.
Qin Qinxi froze, quickly slipping off his lap.
He fixed her with an utterly chilling stare.
She could tell there was that murderous intent creeping back into his eyes.
Qin Qinxi grew frightened. “I’m sorry, I’ll go downstairs now.”
Barefoot, she hurried to the bedroom door.
Just as she reached for the handle, she remembered—the lock required a fingerprint.
She turned back to look at him.
Ever since the first three times he’d pointed a gun at her, each time nearly killing her, she’d developed a deep-seated fear.
