Chapter 144: Counterattack 70
Jiang Feng took Ming Yue’s hand and pressed it against his chest. There, it thumped—thump, thump, thump—pulsing powerfully. It seemed that because of her, that strength carried a certain unique quality—one that she could even feel through the layers of clothing, right through his palm.
Ming Yue said nothing more, made no further promises; instead, she placed both hands on Jiang Feng’s shoulders, gazed silently at him for a long while, then rose slightly on her toes and planted a tender kiss on the corner of his lips. The flame burned quickly, so very quickly…
Before long, Jiang Feng lost all control, scooped her up in his arms, and hurried to their favorite spot, his eager hands immediately getting busy with what needed doing. But just as he was about to lose himself completely, some vague awareness surfaced in his mind, snapping him back to reality. Clenching his teeth, he stifled every impulse and emotion, his resentful gaze fixed on Ming Yue’s face as he reached out to pinch her little cheek. “You little imp—you were sent from heaven to torment me, weren’t you?”
At first, Ming Yue had meant nothing by it. It was simply that her emotions had run their course. Once her heart moved, she acted without thinking. As for what happened next… well, that was definitely on purpose.
She suppressed a laugh, putting on an air of helpless innocence while pretending not to understand what exactly the man was holding back. Then she reached up and grabbed both of his cheeks. “Why are you already starting to curse? What have I ever done to you?”
Her words sounded utterly innocent, but her actions told a very different story. Just as she finished speaking, she tilted her head up again and lightly pecked the corner of his lips—a touch perfectly measured, just right. Meanwhile, her legs and knees were busy too. Jiang Feng felt like dying, yet he forced himself to remain utterly still, gritting his teeth, because he knew full well her condition. She couldn’t…
“Little imp, are you really going to keep this up? You’re torturing me to death, and you still say you’re not a demon? Let me warn you: I do have a bit of self-control, but if you keep playing like this, I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to hold out much longer. So you’d better calm down and stop…”
Before he could finish, Ming Yue effortlessly kicked the idea of “three strikes and you’re out” right out of his mind. Jiang Feng clenched his teeth so hard his forehead veins bulged, but he still forced himself to endure it, unwilling to make things difficult for the woman before him. Instead, as a sort of venting, he gave her a quick nip on the ear as punishment, then tumbled and scrambled, his rear end practically sliding across the floor, straight into the bathroom.
But Ming Yue wasn’t far behind—she pushed open the bathroom door in an instant. This time, Jiang Feng truly wanted to die. For the first time in his life, he even entertained a ridiculous yet terrifying thought: maybe being a “father-in-law” in the old days wasn’t such a bad thing after all…
“Ming Yue, you…”
Jiang Feng was frantic, desperate to shove this reckless troublemaker—who clearly didn’t know her own limits—out of the way. But just as he was about to make a move, she responded. With a smile that suddenly lit up her face, she stepped forward, turned off the cold-water faucet, and said softly, in response to his puzzled look: “I’ll help you.”
“You…”
“I’m serious!”
“Ming Yue!”
“Men… they’re such a handful!” Ming Yue shook her head with a cheerful grin, then decisively stepped forward and personally cleaned up the mess she’d made.
Another sudden downpour. When the sky cleared, Ming Yue opened her sleepy eyes to find Mr. Jiang already waiting for her with a lavish spread of delicious dishes. “You’re awake? Are you hungry? Come on, let’s eat.”
