Chapter 159: Counterattack 85
Ming Yue remained motionless, yet her heart was racing.
Of course, she wasn’t about to back down—she let out a scornful snort. “You think you’ve got what it takes to drag him down to hell with you?”
“Why don’t you give it a try!”
Jiang Feng’s voice was laced with ruthless determination, and Ming Yue, standing so close, could clearly hear the grinding of his teeth.
But far from softening or going along with his words—or even trying to change the subject and placate him—she kept pushing right into his sensitive spots, saying nonchalantly:
“Why bother trying? If you two want to die, go ahead and die. I, on the other hand, still want to live! Once you’re both dead, I’ll just conveniently seize your estate, then go find myself seven or eight handsome, dashing guys with six-pack abs, big wolf dogs, little puppies…”
Ming Yue listed them off one by one.
Each remark hit Jiang Feng’s sore spot dead-on.
Before long, Jiang Feng’s handsome face had turned as black as coal.
Suddenly, he launched an attack, sinking his teeth into Ming Yue’s lips to stop her from continuing.
This time, though, Ming Yue refused to play along; instead, she stood her ground and fought back.
It wasn’t long before both their mouths tasted blood.
In the end, it was Jiang Feng who backed off first, pulling his thin lips away and licking the metallic taste of blood from them. “Are you trying to drive me crazy?”
“Yeah, that’s exactly the idea.”
Ming Yue nodded, just about to reach up and wipe the remaining blood from her lips when Jiang Feng’s large hand shot out, landing on her mouth and gently wiping away each vivid red mark.
Still, the anger she’d stirred up inside him had nowhere to go, so he gritted his teeth and snapped at her, “Ming Yue, do you have any idea how badly I want to strangle you right now—this heartless woman?”
“Go ahead and try! But whether you can actually beat me is something you’ll have to think twice about!”
Ming Yue smiled at him, as if taunting him.
Jiang Feng’s cheeks were practically trembling with rage.
His fingers traced the outline of her lips. “The moment you said that, I wanted to strangle you! But if I really did, I wouldn’t be able to live either. So…”
He paused for a moment, his voice trailing off.
Ming Yue instantly sensed trouble.
Sure enough, the next second, she was already off the ground, lifted effortlessly into the air by him without the slightest warning, and carried straight toward the bedroom.
What they were planning was obvious—even a blind person could guess.
Ming Yue was utterly speechless.
Afterward, she was exhausted beyond measure and didn’t feel like moving a muscle—but she hadn’t forgotten her main purpose. Leaning against his arm, she brought up the old topic again.
“Jiang Feng, we’ve gone around in circles with all this nonsense. It’s time we got down to business. Let me ask you again: are you hiding something from me? With your vigilance and way of handling things, shouldn’t you be even more eager than I am to get to the bottom of such an elusive, hard-to-pin-down opponent? Don’t you think so?”
“Really? I don’t think so.”
Jiang Feng tried to brush it off.
But Ming Yue was no pushover—not someone who’d easily let things slide or compromise. Especially not here.
He had absolutely no chance of winning, so he quickly surrendered under her pressure and coaxing, begging her to spare him and muttering into her ear, “I probably have a pretty good idea who you’re talking about. But…”
Jiang Feng paused briefly, then said to Ming Yue, “Ming Yue, it’s not that I can’t tell you directly who he is—it’s just that some matters are interconnected in ways that affect everything. I have to follow his instructions. How about this: give me a little time. First I’ll confirm with him whether he’s secretly stirring things up behind the scenes, and then I’ll ask him if he can tell you everything?”
