Chapter 236: Counterattack 163
“Hehe, you think you can break the deadlock and go right on marrying someone else? Did I ever agree to that?”
Just as Liu Qingqing hung up Zhang Yang’s call and hurried out of the Hospital, Ming Yue finally removed the mask from her face and curled her lips into a sly smile as she watched the woman rush off.
But at that very moment, it seemed as though an unfriendly gaze was fixed upon her. With her years of rigorous training, she instantly became alert and quickly scanned her surroundings.
Yet she found no one suspicious.
Ming Yue then headed to the restroom, swiftly stripped off her janitor’s uniform, changed back into her everyday clothes, and sped after Liu Qingqing like a bolt of lightning.
However, she didn’t follow too closely—along the way, she even called Xiao Hu.
Xiao Hu was taken aback, unsure what Ming Yue meant, so he handed the phone over to Lin Xi.
Fearing Lin Xi still wouldn’t grasp her intent, Ming Yue briefly and concisely recounted everything that had just happened, then said to Lin Xi, “Sister Lin, do you understand now why I want Xiao Hu to go after Liu Qingqing?”
Lin Xi smiled and nodded. “I get it. Don’t worry—I’ll make sure it gets done.”
“Thank you, Sister Lin!”
Ming Yue expressed her heartfelt gratitude and quickly hung up.
But just as she was about to step on the gas and chase after Liu Qingqing again, that same feeling of being watched—which she’d experienced earlier in the Hospital—came back.
Ming Yue peered through the rearview mirror for a long while but still couldn’t spot the person. She could only keep driving while remaining on high alert.
Still, ever since that incident years ago, Ming Yue had developed an unyielding determination not to be taken advantage of.
Seeing these repeated episodes of such a phantom presence, she certainly wasn’t going to sit idly by or let the matter slip away without a fight.
So from then on, rather than simply tracking Liu Qingqing, Ming Yue devoted most of her attention and energy to uncovering the shadowy figure lurking behind her.
After countless rounds of careful observation and sleuthing, she finally tracked down the culprit: a black car. Though she couldn’t make out exactly how many people were inside, she knew for sure that the vehicle had been following her all along.
It was the classic “the cicada sings, the mantis strikes, and the sparrow waits to pounce”—but alas!
She wasn’t a cicada, nor a mantis, and certainly not a sparrow.
No, she was a wolf, a tiger—a ferocious predator that leaves its prey with a lesson they’ll never forget and never dare try to change again.
Gazing at the car trailing behind her, Ming Yue’s lips curved into an unusually beautiful smile, already fully resolved in her mind.
Then, instead of continuing to follow Liu Qingqing, she turned onto a side road—and before long, her car was speeding down a nearly deserted secluded side road.
Of course, there were no surveillance cameras here either.
Exactly what Ming Yue wanted.
And the car behind her kept right on following.
Ming Yue’s smile grew even wider. Before the driver in the other car could react, she made a sharp turn and slammed on the accelerator, hurtling straight toward the vehicle.
By the time the occupants of that car realized what was happening, their eyes nearly popped out of their heads.
They clearly hadn’t expected this at all.
But by the time they did—by the time they finally understood—the damage was already done.
Ming Yue’s forceful impact completely wrecked their car, leaving a gash on their head that started bleeding, as they frantically scrambled to escape.
