Chapter 36: Crying, Making a Scene, and Threatening to Hang Oneself
She yawned lazily and added casually, “On account of your old man, I’ll give you a discount—you don’t have to strip completely. You can keep a pair of underpants on, but the time limit stays the same: not a single second can be changed.”
“Dream on!” Little Thing’s little face had turned green with anger, and he quickly raised both hands to shield his bottom.
If he really jumped and she recorded it, that’d be proof for life—she could twist it however she wanted. He wasn’t stupid; he wasn’t going to do it!
Ming Yue chuckled twice and yawned again. “No stripping? No jumping? Fine then—we’ll just drag this out. I love wasting time with little things like you.”
Ming Yue wasn’t threatening; she was simply stating the facts.
For the rest of the day, she kept her word without fail. No matter where Little Thing was, what he was doing, or who was around him, she always managed to appear by his side, disrupting all his plans and becoming the bane of his existence.
Even in his dreams, Little Thing couldn’t escape Ming Yue’s relentless pursuit.
Open your eyes, and there she is.
Close them, and still she’s there.
Finally, the next noon, under Ming Yue’s patient torment, Little Thing, nearly driven mad, emerged with dark circles under his eyes and completely lost it.
He let out a loud roar, grabbed a stick, and charged straight at Ming Yue, pointing an angry finger at her and shouting, “You crazy woman! Shut up! I’m challenging you to a duel!”
“Oh, a duel! I love duels!” Ming Yue clapped her hands excitedly.
Then, in the blink of an eye, the little thing charging at her with the stick was mysteriously lifted up by her—just like picking up a chick—and her hand casually hooked his collar onto the coat hook on the wall.
Of course, as the owner of the clothes, Little Thing was naturally caught up too, hanging on the wall as well. Furious and helpless, he spat venomously while kicking wildly with his feet.
Unfortunately, it was all in vain.
Ming Yue calmly dragged over a chair and sat down in front of Little Thing, gently clapping her hands before calling out loudly, “Come take a look, everyone! Liu Lai, Mr. Liu, is up on the wall! Passersby, don’t miss this chance!”
As she spoke, she already pulled out her phone and started snapping away at the struggling little figure on the wall.
Ma Fengying rushed over upon hearing the commotion.
When she saw her precious grandson miserably hanging on the wall, she could no longer contain her long-suppressed emotions. She erupted in fury at Ming Yue, calling her a “beast,” and swung both fists straight at her.
“You evil spirit, you pest! How could you do such a thing? Are you trying to kill my sweet little grandson? You beast, you monster! I’ll beat you to death! I’ll beat you to death, you Sang Men Xing!”
But Ming Yue wasn’t about to let her hit her. As Ma Fengying closed in, Ming Yue made a light, graceful move to dodge the furious old woman.
The old woman, unable to stop in time, swung her fists straight into Liu Lai, who was still hanging on the wall—and there was no way to pull them back fast enough.
Her head slammed against the wall from the force of inertia.
Little Thing let out a pitiful wail, tears streaming down his face. Forget about Grandma or anything else—he cursed Ming Yue even more viciously than before.
Yet Ma Fengying didn’t get angry at all; she didn’t even care about her own head. Her face turned as pale as paper, and she hurriedly scrambled to her grandson’s side, braving his angry curses to pull him off the wall and hold him close, asking anxiously, “Lai Lai, Lai Lai, where does it hurt? Don’t scare Grandma—tell Grandma right away, where does it hurt? Is it serious? Is it serious?”
Liu Lai’s forehead was covered in beads of sweat, and he was still muttering angrily.
Ma Fengying cupped his little face, drenched in sweat, and glared fiercely at Ming Yue with the harshest look she could muster. “Sang Men Xing, it’s all your fault! It’s all because of you! If it weren’t for you, how could Lai Lai have gotten hurt? Let me say this up front: if anything happens to Lai Lai, I’ll fight you to the death!”
