Chapter 52: Stunning

Chapter 52: Stunning

“Brother…”

Ming Yue’s eyes welled up as she gazed at the young man standing in the sunlight, looking slightly uneasy—though she was absolutely certain that the person before her was not him at all.

It only bore a passing resemblance, yet she couldn’t help softly uttering his name.

The man was tall and slender; when Ming Yue spoke his name, he too turned to look at her.

In an instant, the unease in his eyes vanished, replaced by a radiant sparkle. He even seemed a bit shy, his cheeks faintly flushed with color.

Ming Shuo was momentarily taken aback, but quickly came to his senses. He said nothing further, simply gesturing for the man to come inside and asking, “What’s your name?”

“Hello, Mr. Ming. My name is Sun Hongyue. I’m a close friend of Zhao Mo, the boss of CityFusion, and also a fashion designer. Zhao Mo mentioned he’d received an order from your family, so he asked me to accompany him here.”

As he spoke, a slightly plump man standing behind Sun Hongyue released the rack laden with clothes and smiled warmly, greeting Ming Shuo and Liu Qinxin.

It was none other than Zhao Mo, the very person Sun Hongyue had mentioned.

Ming Shuo had met him before.

And Liu Qinxin was even one of his biggest clients.

Seeing the change in Ming Shuo’s expression—from dark to light—and Liu Qinxin’s obvious awkwardness, Zhao Mo quickly bowed his head and apologized to both of them.

“Mr. Ming, Madam, I’m really sorry. I was worried that the clothes I brought might not suit your taste, or that there might be some adjustments needed, so I decided on short notice to bring Hongyue along. I didn’t get your permission beforehand—I truly am sorry.”

“It’s all right, please come in,” Ming Shuo said, turning around and stepping toward the study.

Only then did Zhao Mo finally breathe a sigh of relief.

He gave Sun Hongyue, who had been staring at Ming Yue without moving for what felt like an eternity, a gentle kick, then hurried over with Sun Hongyue to push the rack piled high with clothes into the Ming household.

“So you’re Miss Ming Yue, the lady Mr. Ming mentioned? This is our latest design—a formal gown. Please take a look and see if there’s anything you like.”

Zhao Mo greeted Ming Yue, who was still standing there in a daze.

Only then did Ming Yue snap out of it, glancing once more at Sun Hongyue, and clearing her throat twice. “I don’t know much about these things, so you guys can pick something for me.”

She no longer sounded as difficult as before, jabbing at others’ soft spots with every word.

Instead, she looked rather listless, picked up a bottle of water, and sat down on the sofa, sipping slowly.

Zhao Mo nodded, chatted briefly with Liu Qinxin beside him, then began helping Sun Hongyue select a dress. Before long, they had chosen a blue, one-shoulder, figure-hugging mermaid-style gown.

“Miss Ming, how does this look? Your skin is fair, and you have a lovely figure—this dress both highlights your complexion and accentuates your silhouette. Plus, blue symbolizes peace and tranquility, making it especially suitable for attending an elder’s birthday banquet.”

“Then let’s go with this one,” Ming Yue said, casting a glance at the colorful array of dresses without much interest.

But when she glanced again at the blue gown Zhao Mo was holding, she felt no aversion either.

Zhao Mo smiled and nodded, taking two steps forward. “Then would you mind trying it on to see how it looks?”

“Mm.”

She rose lazily, took the gown from Zhao Mo’s hands, and headed upstairs.

Barely the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, and a sea-blue mermaid gracefully descended the stairs—as if strolling leisurely down from the heavens to grace this mortal world.

Zhao Mo was utterly amazed.

Although he’d always thought this dress would suit the young woman before him, he never imagined it would fit so perfectly—it was as though she were a fairy untouched by the mundane world!

It seemed this deal was done!

Zhao Mo couldn’t contain his joy.

Sun Hongyue was equally struck by her beauty. Over the many years he’d been in the industry, he’d encountered tens of thousands—if not hundreds of thousands—of women, most of whom wore clothes to enhance themselves. Never before had he seen someone whose presence actually made the clothes shine even brighter.

Her figure, her aura, her delicate little face…

Sun Hongyue’s heart began pounding wildly, like a fawn in springtime, blindly darting about in the fields, his cheeks gradually flushing red and his breathing growing a bit rapid.

Liu Qinxin glanced at the two of them, then looked up at Ming Yue, saying nothing.

“Miss Ming, you really do look beautiful—like a fairy. Personally, I don’t think any of my collection could match this dress better. What do you think?”

Zhao Mo asked with a smile.

Ming Yue didn’t rush to answer; instead, she turned to Sun Hongyue beside her. “Mr. Sun, what do you think?”

“Indeed,” he replied, turning around and heading out into the Ming family garden. But he soon returned, holding a small cluster of delicate begonias, and hurried over to Ming Yue. “Why don’t you try placing this on your shoulder over there? See if it makes the effect even better.”
