Chapter 90: Counterattack 16

The next morning, the sun was shining brightly.

When Ming Yue was awakened by a passionate kiss, a pig-slaughtering scream suddenly echoed from the room next door.

“Is she awake now?”

Ming Yue didn’t push Jiang Feng’s face away.

Jiang Feng nodded. “Judging by the noise, she is. How are you? Are you all right?” He reached around her waist and began to massage it, feeling somewhat guilty. “I’m sorry—last night was my fault.”

Ming Yue ignored him. In a daze, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something about this man just wasn’t quite right.

They’d done this kind of thing plenty before, but he’d never apologized like this.

But lately…

“I have to go. Where can I slip out without being noticed?” The front door was out of the question, and neither could she use the big door connecting to her room.

Where else could she escape?

She couldn’t exactly climb out the window, could she?

Ming Yue was starting to panic.

But the unnamed male operative held her tightly, reluctant to let go. “No rush—stay with me a little longer. That commotion over there will keep up for a while yet. I’ll make sure you can leave safely.”

“Don’t play games with me!”

“How could I?”

“Then you…”

“This private club is actually my business,” the unnamed male operative confessed honestly, without the slightest bit of concealment. Along with that, he revealed the hidden door connecting three adjacent rooms.

Ming Yue spat in disgust after hearing this. “Jiang—you always had a lot of tricks up your sleeve, but who knew you were this sneaky! Why did you leave so many secret doors? To spy on clients’ privacy?”

“Stop overthinking it. I don’t have that kind of fetish.”

The reason he’d left so many doors was simply because of her.

But he didn’t explain further.

Ming Yue didn’t ask any more questions either.

Of course, she no longer felt sleepy. She pulled out her phone and started to retaliate against last night’s battle next door. It was true that she felt vindicated—but whether she was really happy about it… well, not really.

In her view, whether it was fighting or bickering, such tactics were ultimately dirty.

If Liu Jia hadn’t thought of it, she would never have used them.

Jiang Feng seemed to read her mind. He pulled her even closer, nipped her ear, and whispered softly in her ear, “Don’t feel guilty at all. This is all her own doing—no one else is to blame, least of all you.”

If it weren’t for the fact that Ming Yue had the upper hand and hadn’t been humiliated in the slightest, just because that jerk had summoned so many men, he would’ve made that jerk wish he could neither live nor die.

“Are you serious?”

Ming Yue still didn’t push him away; instead, she asked that very question.

Without hesitation, Jiang Feng nodded. “Of course—I couldn’t be more sincere. It’s only because you’re so kind-hearted. If it were me, she’d be driven mad if she didn’t die today!”

“Looks like we’re cut from the same cloth,” Ming Yue said with a faint smile.

Jiang Feng quickly understood what she meant and pecked her lips. “So last night was just an appetizer? There’s still a sequel today?”

“Of course! She’s already figured it all out—how could I possibly deny her that satisfaction?”

“What are you planning to do?”

“What else could I do? Isn’t it exactly as she envisioned—making sure everyone who wants to see this show gets to see it? What else could I do?”

Ming Yue said casually, then suddenly remembered what he’d said last night. She immediately pinned him down, stared into his eyes, and asked, “You said last night you’d tell me a secret—a secret about my Da Ge. What is it? Since we’ve got some time now, why don’t you spill it?”

“I’ll only reveal the secret if you tell me your detailed plan first. Last night, you hadn’t said a single word when those guys came in—so that doesn’t count as a completed deal.”
