Chapter 93: Counterattack 19

Chapter 93: Counterattack 19

Jiang Feng, Fu Qiancheng, and Ming Yue left the club at almost the same time. However, unlike the other two, after circling around outside for a while, he returned to the club and appeared in his private lounge.

Soon, the Club Manager knocked on the door and entered. “Boss, everyone’s gone.”

“Everyone’s gone?” Jiang Feng exuded an icy chill, his back turned to the man.

The Manager nodded. “Yes, they’re all gone.”

“What did the Ming and Liu families say?”

“Ming Shuo was very adamant, demanding an explanation from us and even checking the check-in information for that room. But don’t worry—Miss Ming had already hacked our system and changed all the check-in details to Liu Jia’s.”

“He didn’t believe it, did he?”

“Yes.”

“But he wouldn’t dare sue us.”

“You guessed perfectly. After finding out nothing, he could only swallow his frustration silently and stopped giving us any more trouble.”

“What about the Liu family?”

“They didn’t really give us much trouble either—just kept shouting about calling the police, but Ming Shuo put a stop to it,” the Manager reported in detail. “It’s clear that Ming Shuo is very reluctant to let outsiders know about family matters; he’d rather kill that Liu Jia than agree to call the police.”

“Of course. How could someone with a guilty conscience willingly step into the spotlight?” Jiang Feng said coolly.

The Manager remained silent, standing respectfully in place.

Jiang Feng still had his back to him and waved his hand. “You may go back to your work now. Remember: no matter who asks or investigates, this matter must stay buried in your heart. Even if someone puts a knife to your throat, your answer remains the same. Understand? If you dare to cause me even the slightest trouble, you know how I handle things.”

“Boss, rest assured—I understand perfectly,” the Manager replied, bowing slightly to Jiang Feng before quietly leaving the room.

Jiang Feng stood by the window, gazing at the street scene outside, saying nothing for a long while. Only when Ming Yue, who had been gone for some time, came into view did he slowly break into a smile and turn to head downstairs.

“Did you see them off?”

Jiang Feng draped his coat over Ming Yue’s shoulders.

Ming Yue nodded. “I saw them off to the Fu family. What about those people?”

“They’re all gone—not a single one left. But don’t worry, I’ve taken care of all your concerns. They won’t dare make trouble for you openly, but…” Jiang Feng took Ming Yue’s hand. “Still, it’s impossible to guard against their underhanded tricks behind the scenes. You need to be careful.”

“I can protect myself. I came to ask you for a favor.”

Ming Yue let him lead her gently as they walked toward his private lounge.

Jiang Feng asked, “What is it? Go ahead and tell me.”

“Help me protect someone.”

“An Le?”

“No.”

He had already promised to protect An Le thoroughly, and Shen Shu was by her side too—plus, she wasn’t involved in anything he was doing, so he wasn’t too worried about her.

What she was really worried about was someone else.

That sister Lin Xi, who had, through her own efforts, ruined Liu Jia’s personality at the Wanxi Bookstore.

Given Ming Shuo’s capabilities and sharpness, if he really decided to investigate, it wouldn’t take long before he tracked down Sister Lin.

Sister Lin is just a weak woman…

“So who is it?”

“Lin Xi—a friend from the past, someone very important to me. I simply don’t have the energy to split myself up and take care of her, but I believe you can do it, right?”

As they spoke, the two had already reached Jiang Feng’s private lounge. As soon as the door closed, Jiang Feng pressed her against the wall. “Whatever you ask, I’ll do it. Give me her information and address, and I’ll arrange everything right away.”
