Chapter 94: Counterattack 20

Ming Yue was personally driven back to the Ming family by Jiang Feng.

Before getting out of the car, he didn’t let her step out right away; instead, he held her hand and said in a low voice, “Times have changed. Now you’re essentially declaring war on the Liu clan. From now on, be extremely careful in every single matter.”

“I know,” Ming Yue nodded.

She had expected this all along. How could she possibly be careless?

Yet Jiang Feng still couldn’t help but worry. He pulled out a small electric shock defense baton and slipped it into her bag. “Carry this with you—just in case. If you ever run into danger, remember to call me immediately.”

“Got it,” Ming Yue replied.

For some reason, she found that tonight’s man was being a bit overly talkative—fussy and fumbling, unlike the aloof, cold image she’d always had of him.

Jiang Feng didn’t think so, though. He kept holding onto her hand tightly. “You must remember what I said, do you hear me? Don’t try to handle everything on your own.”

“Okay, okay, I got it!” With the electric shock defense baton in hand, Ming Yue stepped out of the car without even looking back, her gaze resolute as she walked straight toward the Ming household.

Soon, she once again crossed the threshold of the very home she’d never wanted to enter.

The place looked just as it always had—except there was no longer any laughter or cheerful chatter.

The moment everyone saw her, their reaction was one of sheer shock, as if they’d encountered a ghost.

Ming Yue paid it no mind. She gave a slight twist of her lips and continued walking inside—only to run straight into Liu Qinxin, who came rushing over in a furious rage.

In her hand was a razor-sharp kitchen knife. Without the slightest warning, she swung it wildly at Ming Yue, screaming shrilly, “You evil woman! I’m going to kill you!”

Ming Yue was quick-witted and agile. She dodged to the side in an instant, then raised her foot and easily kicked the already out-of-control Liu Qinxin to the ground, sending the knife flying far away.

With one swift kick, she sent the knife tumbling off, then quickly stomped down hard on Liu Qinxin’s makeup-smeared face. “Kill me? I’m the evil one? Liu clan, have you lost your mind?”

Ma Fengying and Ming Xia, mother and daughter, had never seen Liu Qinxin like this before—they were both so frightened that they instinctively clutched their heads and backed away.

Liu Lai wasn’t at home and couldn’t see what was happening right before his eyes.

Liu Jia no longer had the courage to go outside; she stayed cooped up in her room.

Ming Shuo had been reading the newspaper when suddenly this unexpected turn of events occurred. The paper in his hands flew to the floor, and he strode forward in anger, berating Ming Yue for stepping on Liu Qinxin’s face. “What are you doing? Let go of Qin Qin right now!”

“Are you blind? When she was about to slash me with that knife, why didn’t you say anything to stop her? And when she went crazy and threatened to kill me, why didn’t you intervene? What, are you only feeling sorry for her now?”

Ming Yue showed absolutely no respect for her own father; on the contrary, she pressed down even harder, using the hard sole of her shoe to spin around Liu Qinxin’s face several times.

Ming Shuo’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. He hurriedly reached out with both hands, trying to grab Ming Yue—but she only dug in even deeper. Finally, he had no choice but to stop in his tracks, his voice tinged with pleading. “Let go! Please let go! She’s just acting irrationally in the heat of the moment—don’t hold it against her! Do you hear me? If you don’t let go soon, I’ll…”

“What are you going to do? Are you going to chop me with that knife too?” Ming Yue shot back.

Ming Shuo remained silent, but his fists were already clenched tight.

As he watched Liu Qinxin’s delicate little face being crushed and distorted under Ming Yue’s feet, his heart ached unbearably. He longed to slap this rebellious daughter right across the face and knock her dead.

“Brother Shuo, don’t beg her!” Liu Qinxin’s eyes filled with tears, yet she refused to back down. “You evil woman, cut the crap! If you’ve got the guts, just kill me! You dare harm my Jiajia like this—either you die, or I do!”

“Fine, then you can die!”
