Chapter 95: Counterattack 21
Of course, no one responded.
Ma Fengying and Ming Xia, mother and daughter, merely watched Ming Yue from a distance, not daring to come within half an inch of her.
Ming Yue snorted, too lazy to waste words on the two of them. She said in a cool tone, “If you’re not coming, then forget it. I’ll kindly advise you both: it’s best to keep today’s incident buried—don’t go around prying into what really happened to little Jiajia. The Ming family rises and falls together; if you don’t want to make things uncomfortable for yourself, stop meddling.”
Ma Fengying and Ming Xia exchanged a glance, neither saying a word.
Ming Yue kicked the kitchen knife over to them. “From now on, put this thing away. We’ve got another crazy woman in the house who could snap at any moment. If you don’t watch out, who knows when she might chop someone up in her sleep?”
Ma Fengying and Ming Xia both shrank back, their spines growing icy cold.
Ming Yue was done with them and headed upstairs to her room.
Of course, she wasn’t going up there to rest.
She had more important business to attend to.
First, she booted up her laptop, hacked into Liu Jia’s phone, and then, posing as a friend Liu Jia didn’t even know, sent that spectacular “one-on-seven” video straight to the dazed Liu Jia.
In an instant, piercing screams erupted from Liu Jia’s room, repeated again and again: “No… no… no…”
Mission accomplished. Ming Yue immediately used her expertise to wipe every trace of her presence from Liu Jia’s phone.
Such methods…
She really looked down on using them.
But since others had already stepped all over her, she didn’t feel any shame about resorting to them.
The tactics were crude and underhanded, but there was no denying they worked like a charm!
Besides, wasn’t it exactly how Mom had been driven mad, step by step, by that pair of despicable men and women back then?
Now the karmic retribution was visiting their daughter—how could that not be the law of cause and effect?
Ming Yue muttered to herself, listening to the uncontrollable shrieks next door, a faint smile playing on her lips. She gazed out the window, her eyes growing colder. “Don’t worry! This is just the beginning! There are plenty more exciting acts to come. As long as you’ve got the guts, I guarantee you won’t be able to take it all in!”
Ming Yue mused to herself.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
She pulled it out and saw Jiang Feng’s name flashing on the screen.
After a few seconds of thought, she swiped to answer. “What is it?”
Her voice was slightly cold.
On the other end, hearing her usual tone, he breathed a sigh of relief and asked in a low voice, “What was with those… screams just now? I know that wasn’t your voice, but still…”
He was a bit worried about her.
Ming Yue paused for a moment, then quickly realized what was going on. She walked over to the window and saw that the car downstairs hadn’t left yet—it was still parked there. “Why haven’t you left yet?”
“Oh, I had to take a call and ended up being delayed a bit,” Jiang Feng replied.
Ming Yue knew he was lying, but she had no intention of calling him out. She simply said calmly, “Go home early. I’m perfectly fine.”
“Ming Yue!”
“Don’t worry—I haven’t met anyone yet who could easily hurt me.”
“You…”
“Stop beating around the bush. You know better than anyone what I’m capable of, and you know just as well how I trained myself.”
“Alright.”
“Then let’s go.”
“Okay. Be careful. Call me right away if anything happens.”
“Alright.”
Ming Yue patiently agreed, then watched as the man’s car drove off.
