Chapter 10: I Don’t Want to Call You My Jiefu Anymore
Ling Hanyu’s mind was filled with the cheerful image of Song Qingtian wanting a divorce.
Over the years, Song Qingtian’s vicious and clingy behavior had brought their marriage to a standstill, and he had proposed divorce many times.
But each time, it ended in failure.
Song Qingtian would always resort to coquettish pouting or throwing tantrums to beg for reconciliation, and later even resorted to extreme measures.
Yet this time, she actually took the initiative to agree to a divorce?
This made him extremely unhappy!
As soon as Ling Hanyu arrived at the office, he saw Song Yinyin walking toward him, clutching a stack of documents.
The moment Song Yinyin caught sight of Ling Hanyu, her face instantly clouded with sadness and distress.
Seeing Ling Hanyu, she deliberately lowered her head and called out, “Jiefu.”
Noticing Song Yinyin’s unusual mood, Ling Hanyu frowned and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“My parents have been pressuring me to go on blind dates lately, but…”
“You can just refuse if you don’t like it.”
“Hanyu! I just don’t understand—how did things go from where we started…to this?”
Song Yinyin trailed off, her words hanging in the air, making her look even more pitiful.
Back when Ling Hanyu was studying abroad, Song Yinyin and Ling Hanyu were classmates, and she was his junior. So every day she would seek his help, and he would always lend a hand.
In the eyes of others, the two were a perfect match—talented man and beautiful woman, meant to be together.
Song Yinyin believed that although they had never officially acknowledged their relationship, it was already clear to everyone.
But who could have imagined that when Ling Hanyu returned home after graduating, the shameless Song Qingtian would climb into his bed and even get pregnant!
In Ling Hanyu’s eyes, she had always been that sensible and understanding junior student; she couldn’t make a scene or drive Song Qingtian away. The idea of marrying Ling Hanyu could only be put on hold for the time being.
“Calm down,” Ling Hanyu said, looking at Song Yinyin.
“It seems the brand has sent over some new products. Why don’t you go pick out a few that you like?”
Was this just his way of placating her?
Song Yinyin’s eyes were still red with tears, but she didn’t dare to argue with Ling Hanyu any longer.
“Hanyu, I don’t want to call you my jiefu anymore,” she said, gritting her teeth as if she’d made up her mind.
“I’m not getting a divorce,” Ling Hanyu declared firmly, then quickly walked away.
Song Yinyin kept replaying those five words over and over in her mind, her expression growing increasingly twisted.
“Song Qingtian, I’ll make sure you pay for this!”
Song Qingtian had originally planned to go out for a stroll and then head straight to a class reunion, but she couldn’t bear to leave Nuonuo behind, so she went home instead.
By the time she got back, Nuonuo had already driven the secretary to the brink of collapse.
As soon as he saw Song Qingtian, he wanted to shout “Long live!” three times, but unfortunately, due to his duties, he couldn’t just run away—he could only try to communicate with her.
“Miss Song, you need to go out too. Why don’t I call Aunt Chen back? Miss Nuonuo used to love her the most.”
Thinking she’d have to go out again later, Song Qingtian nodded.
The secretary hadn’t expected Song Qingtian to agree so readily; earlier, in order to prove she could take good care of Nuonuo, she had been very opposed to bringing Aunt Chen back.
After playing with Nuonuo for a while, Aunt Chen arrived.
When she saw Nuonuo, her eyes immediately welled up, but since Song Qingtian was present, she couldn’t show too much closeness. Seeing this, Song Qingtian nodded with relief.
“Aunt Chen, I was being unreasonable before. Please take good care of Nuonuo from now on,” Song Qingtian said, bowing deeply to Aunt Chen. After all, she was now carrying Song Qingtian’s child, so she needed to do something to help her as well.
