Chapter 12: Caught Red-Handed
Turning around, Song Qingtian noticed that Qin Zhengxiao had somehow walked over without her realizing it.
“Thank you.”
She said a simple sentence, and Qin Zhengxiao merely gave her a smile.
So handsome, so warm!
Even when she wasn’t drunk, Song Qingtian always thought Qin Zhengxiao was the epitome of handsomeness. Now, with just a slight buzz, looking at him felt like seeing him through a “god-filter”—absolutely perfect!
“Don’t take what they say too seriously; don’t feel any pressure.”
In the past, Song Qingtian actually didn’t enjoy these kinds of gatherings. When others teased her about being with Qin Zhengxiao, it would make her uneasy. This time, he naturally assumed as much.
“It’s fine.”
Song Qingtian shook her head.
“I won’t feel pressured. I’m a brand-new Song Qingtian now—I’m going to leave my old self behind!”
The moonlight was soft and gentle. Taking advantage of the alcohol in her system, Song Qingtian decided to make her stance clear to Qin Zhengxiao right away.
“I want to embrace a new life. I’ve already signed the divorce agreement. Once I’m divorced, I’ll…”
“Go home!”
Before Song Qingtian could even finish expressing her attitude, a cold voice rang out from above her head.
The sheer presence of that voice made Song Qingtian instantly fall silent, and she turned around in a daze.
Ling Hanyu’s expression was even colder than his voice—just one look sent a chill down her spine.
Song Qingtian turned around and blinked at Ling Hanyu.
“Have you seen the divorce agreement yet?”
No sooner had Song Qingtian spoken than Ling Hanyu ignored her completely, grabbing her wrist and pulling her toward the car.
Damn it.
She really couldn’t stand being in contact with Ling Hanyu. What on earth was this “Song Qingtian” instinct? The moment she touched him, her body would go limp, and she’d inexplicably want to follow him wherever he went.
But… her “god”…
“Um, let me go home first to sort out some family issues. We’ll talk later.”
She quickly turned back to wave goodbye to Qin Zhengxiao, though she was reluctant to leave.
It wasn’t until Ling Hanyu dragged Song Qingtian into the car that he finally released her hand—but his gaze still seemed capable of killing.
Song Qingtian swallowed nervously before looking up at Ling Hanyu again.
What had she done wrong?
She’d already signed the divorce agreement!
“Have you seen the divorce agreement yet?”
Summoning her courage once more, Song Qingtian asked, hoping to ease the tension between them.
But to her surprise, Ling Hanyu didn’t even bother to answer. Instead, he stepped on the gas and sped off in a roar.
In an instant…
Song Qingtian leaned forward, nearly crashing her entire body into the front windshield. Startled, she quickly buckled her seatbelt.
This man really did speak so little it was frightening.
And his behavior was even more terrifying!
It was truly baffling—why on earth did the Song Qingtian in the book have to fall for this man?
Only when they got home did Ling Hanyu lead Song Qingtian into the bedroom, his gaze as icy cold as if infused with ice as he looked at her.
“Did you have a good time tonight?” His tone was dripping with sarcasm.
“Not bad—it was just a get-together with old classmates. You know, today’s my birthday.”
Faced with Ling Hanyu’s overwhelming presence, she was terrified and could only squint, trying her best to sound accommodating.
“Um, I’ve already put the divorce agreement upstairs in the study.”
Song Qingtian figured Ling Hanyu must not have seen the agreement, which was why he was so upset.
She hurried upstairs, found the divorce agreement in the study, and handed it to Ling Hanyu.
“Our marriage has been dead in name for a long time anyway. You never liked me, so I’ve decided to set you free. I’ve already signed it.”
After saying all this, Song Qingtian even gave Ling Hanyu a flattering smile.
But to her surprise, Ling Hanyu simply glanced at the agreement and tossed it aside.
He cupped Song Qingtian’s chin with both hands, staring at her with hawk-like eyes. “What are you playing at?”
