Chapter 32: What a Little Schemer!

Upon hearing Ling Hanyu say this, Song Yinyin clenched her teeth, but she couldn’t let on in the slightest. She maintained her usual delicate, fragile demeanor, as if she’d fall over at the slightest breeze. As she turned to leave, she shot Ling Hanyu a desperate, broken look.

But who was Ling Hanyu? How could someone who couldn’t even sort out his own feelings possibly understand Song Yinyin’s subtle cues? Seeing her expression and gestures, he thought that maybe Song Qingtian had a point after all—she did seem a bit pretentious.

Song Yinyin returned to the office, printed out a stack of photos of Song Qingtian, and then, muttering curses under her breath, tore them to shreds—as if doing so could drive Song Qingtian away from Ling Hanyu.

In truth, she wanted to smash everything in the office, but that would make her look like a madwoman. Ling Hanyu hated unreasonable people the most, so she had to hold back—she had to!

Song Yinyin kept tearing up Song Qingtian’s photos, finally feeding the shredded pieces into the shredder to pulverize them once more. She rubbed her face, straightened her clothes, lifted her chin, and walked out, still the sweet, charming, gentle, and kind female secretary.

In the hospital room.

Song Qingtian pouted as she picked up the divorce agreement from the floor, planning to slip it into a drawer. But her hand slipped, and the document scattered all over the place.

She bent down to pick up the pieces, only to stumble upon a sheet of paper with a completely different color.

Curious, she picked up the paper and saw six large characters clearly written on it: “A Guide to Seducing Your Husband.”

Just reading the title sent a thrill through Song Qingtian, and she couldn’t wait to see what was inside.

The content, however, was far more mundane than the title suggested. According to the guide, seduction basically meant cooking him a meal to win his heart, or deliberately dressing sexily in front of him—better yet, performing a hot dance right in front of him to make him lose control of his lower half. After all, men do prefer women who are a bit flirty.

After reading this, Song Qingtian swallowed hard and tossed the paper into the trash, her face full of disgust.

The advice in there was totally unsuitable for her—and she certainly couldn’t pull it off.

But the next second, Song Qingtian suddenly remembered the plot of the book.

In the story, the more others tried to please Ling Hanyu, the colder and more indifferent he became, even dismissing them outright. Yet whenever the female lead ignored him, he would go out of his way to woo her.

A sudden thought struck Song Qingtian, and she widened her eyes in surprise.

Could it be that Ling Hanyu is a masochist? Could he have a tendency toward being dominated?

No wonder the colder she’d been to him these past few days, the more attention he’d paid her!

Thinking of this, Song Qingtian suddenly perked up.

Thankfully, she realized it just in time.

She retrieved the seduction guide from the trash, frowned, and read the contents again.

Although she still felt somewhat resistant, as long as it could make Ling Hanyu grow tired of her, she didn’t mind making a little sacrifice.

And if, by then, Ling Hanyu happened to toss that earlier divorce agreement in front of her again, she might even turn a profit—how delightful!

Song Qingtian made up her mind secretly, clutching the paper tightly in her hand as if it were a lifeline.

The next day, in order to give Song Qingtian the cold shoulder, Ling Hanyu deliberately asked the secretary to go to the hospital to pick them up upon discharge.

Seeing the secretary, Nuonuo pouted in disappointment.

“Where’s my dad? Why didn’t he come pick us up?”

The secretary gave an awkward smile and ruffled Nuonuo’s hair.

“The CEO is simply too busy with work to find the time—it’s not that he doesn’t want to pick you up, Nuonuo.”

Seeing Nuonuo’s dejected expression, Song Qingtian’s heart softened. She crouched down and pinched Nuonuo’s cheek.

“Your dad has to work hard to earn money so he can buy snacks for you! Didn’t you just eat snacks your dad bought yesterday?”

Nuonuo’s gloom began to lift.

“My dad only buys me the snacks I love! He really does care about me!”
