Chapter 33: I’m Here to Devote Myself

Song Qingtian returned home overjoyed. As soon as she stepped through the door, little Nuonuo gave her a big smooch on the cheek.

Song Qingtian quickly kissed her back and gently stroked her little head.

“Sweetie, you’re so good! Does your head still hurt? Mommy bought you some yummy treats!” She said, shaking the shopping bag in her hand, which was filled with baby-friendly snacks and a few ingredients.

After observing for a while, she noticed that Nuonuo loved seafood and chicken. Since Nuonuo’s wound hadn’t healed yet and she couldn’t eat seafood, Song Qingtian bought plenty of chicken breast, drumsticks, and wings.

“Wow! Big chicken legs, seaweed, Peppa Pig, and Paw Patrol! Mommy, I love you so much!”

Aunt Chen watched their interaction and felt genuinely happy. Previously, Nuonuo had been injured because of Song Qingtian, and Aunt Chen had been very resentful toward her.

She had once thought Song Qingtian had turned over a new leaf and was treating Nuonuo well, but who would have guessed that after only a few days, she’d reverted to her old ways? To win back her husband, she even ran away from home several times and nearly cost Nuonuo her life in the end.

All the good feelings she’d previously built up vanished in an instant—no, they turned into negative feelings.

Now seeing how devoted Song Qingtian was, she truly hoped this attitude would last.

Song Qingtian sensed Aunt Chen’s change and inwardly scolded herself a bit.

“Nuonuo, Mommy’s going to make you something delicious. Why don’t you go play with Aunt Chen for a bit?”

“Okay! But Mommy, hurry up—my tummy’s all gurgly!”

“Alright, alright.” Song Qingtian smiled and patted Nuonuo’s head before heading to the Kitchen with her shopping bag.

Since Nuonuo was still young, she needed soft, easy-to-digest foods. Song Qingtian cooked porridge with millet and rice, adding a few red dates and peanuts to make it tastier.

Next, she cut the chicken legs into small cubes and marinated them with seasonings, planning to make teriyaki-style crispy chicken leg pancakes for Nuonuo.

Then she mixed the dough, washed and chopped the broccoli and carrots that needed to be stir-fried, and sliced the scallions and ginger, setting everything aside.

By the time the chicken legs were almost fully marinated, she had finished making the crispy pancakes and put them in the electric griddle, then started stir-frying the vegetables.

Song Qingtian worked quickly. After serving the meal, she went upstairs to the second-floor children’s room to call Nuonuo down.

Nuonuo was still very polite, clapping and praising Song Qingtian for cooking so well. Song Qingtian sat Nuonuo in her high chair and patiently watched her eat.

Nuonuo always had a great appetite and ate obediently, even carefully imitating Song Qingtian.

When she saw Nuonuo wiping her mouth with a napkin, she did the same, and Song Qingtian couldn’t help but laugh, covering her mouth.

Just then, footsteps echoed in the room. Song Qingtian turned around and saw Ling Hanyu, who shouldn’t have shown up at this hour.

Ling Hanyu coldly eyed the beautifully presented, fragrant, and delicious meal on the table, further confirming his earlier suspicion that Song Qingtian had done it on purpose!

He washed his hands and sat directly across from Nuonuo, raising an eyebrow at Song Qingtian.

His voice was chillingly cold.

“I haven’t had lunch either.”

“Daddy’s so busy? Then have mine—Mommy made it so delicious!”

Hearing Nuonuo say this, Ling Hanyu furrowed his brow so deeply that he could’ve pinched a coin between them.

Song Qingtian just wanted to scream in frustration. Wasn’t this damn man a workaholic? Why had he come back? Could it be that he’d actually taken a fancy to her?

But in this situation, she could only go back to the kitchen, take out the two remaining crispy pancakes, and serve another bowl of porridge.

Ling Hanyu tried a few bites first and found them really delicious, so he devoured both pancakes and the bowl of porridge in no time. Seeing that there was still food left on Song Qingtian’s plate, he reached over and grabbed it.
