Chapter 25: Chapter 25
Only when she was sure there was absolutely no sound outside did Qin Qinxi finally turn the shower back on.
The water gushed loudly.
She stood beneath the stream, completely stripping off the few scraps of fabric that were left on her body.
The hot water beat against her skin, scorching it until it turned red.
Qin Qinxi stood with her eyes closed for a long time, letting the water cascade from head to toe.
He probably wouldn’t be coming back.
After finishing her shower, she searched every single corner of the bathroom—cabinets, shelves, drawers.
Yet she couldn’t even find a trace of the bathrobe.
All she could do was wrap herself in a large towel, barely covering what needed covering.
Once wrapped in the towel, she stood at the bathroom door, peering into the living room.
She had no idea whether that man would return tonight or not.
In this villa, only the master bedroom’s bed was made; all the other rooms’ doors were shut.
She didn’t know which room was the second bedroom, whether there was a quilt in there, or whether those doors could even be opened.
And she didn’t dare close any of them.
She didn’t have a fingerprint, nor did she know the password.
What if she closed one and then couldn’t open it?
Qin Qinxi walked into the living room and saw a blanket on the sofa.
After thinking it over, she went over and wrapped herself in that blanket as well.
Back in the dining room.
On the table, all the dishes she had painstakingly prepared were now cold.
The braised pork had congealed into a layer of white fat, the stir-fried greens had wilted, and a film had formed on top of the soup.
Qin Qinxi stood there for a long time.
Then she sat down, picked up her chopsticks, and began to eat.
She didn’t want to feel hungry again.
Leaving At.mosphere restaurant, Vio led Bali into the elevator.
Bali instinctively pressed the button for the 39th floor.
The boss had a year-round reserved presidential suite at the Armani Hotel.
Tonight, the boss was supposed to be staying here.
But as soon as he finished pressing the button, he felt a chill run down his spine.
He slowly turned around and caught the boss’s cold gaze.
“Back to Jumeirah,” Vio said indifferently.
Bali was momentarily stunned, quickly canceled the 39th-floor button, and pressed the button for the private parking garage on the 11th floor.
He almost forgot.
There was still a beauty in the Jumeirah villa.
The boss was still fresh.
The 11th floor.
Three Mercedes-Benz S600 Guards were quietly parked there. Their black bodies gleamed with a cold light under the dim lighting.
Bali scanned his surroundings warily.
After confirming everything was safe, he walked over to the middle car and opened the rear door.
Vio got in.
The car started moving.
The man looked out the window.
Dubai’s night flashed by outside the window, brightly lit like a flowing river.
A wave of annoyance washed over him.
That night, when he lost control, he thought he’d just drunk too much.
This woman—he shouldn’t have kept her.
Why keep her? Was he really planning to raise her like a rat? He didn’t need slaves.
He never kept useless people around him.
Well, whatever.
For now, he’d just keep her. After all, he hadn’t had much to do or play with lately.
That woman could serve as an outlet for him.
As he was thinking this, the car had already stopped.
The driver got out, went around to the back seat, and opened the door.
Vio put his hands in his pockets, stretched out his long legs, and stepped out of the car.
He stood at the villa’s entrance, squinting slightly.
The first floor was lit, with warm yellow light spilling out from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The second floor was pitch-black.
The villa’s door was still wide open. He hadn’t closed it when he left, and it remained open now.
Bali stood by the car, watching the boss’s back.
He noticed that the boss had become less cautious lately than before.
That woman’s background was unclear. Even if the information they’d gathered was clean, the boss still shouldn’t have kept her around.
After all, it was international—there were more details to investigate, and it wasn’t easy for him to look into them.
