Chapter 45: It’s Settled Once Someone Is Dead
“You!”
Liu Jia’s little face turned pale, and she instantly sensed trouble. Liu Qinxin also broke into a cold sweat.
Ming Yue, however, wasn’t in a hurry to pick on her; she just kept leaning against the railing, watching the performance.
Realizing things were bad, Liu Qinxin secretly slapped herself twice, blaming herself for speaking carelessly and letting Ming Yue overhear.
Now…
If Lai Lai had drugged her, she’d have hung Lai Lai on the wall. If Jiajia had slandered her online, what would she do to Jiajia next?
Liu Qinxin’s heart sank. She no longer cared about anything else and hurried over to Ming Yue with a forced smile, grabbing both of Ming Yue’s hands.
“Ming Yue, Yue’er, good girl—calm down first. This whole thing is your aunt and Jiajia’s fault; they’re the ones who wronged you. I’m here to apologize to you on their behalf.”
“Who do you think you are? Do you have a big face or something? Are you qualified to apologize for them?”
Ming Yue jerked free from Liu Qinxin and gave her a disgusted look.
Liu Qinxin’s face twitched, but she still managed to keep her temper under control.
Ming Yue yawned and sneered, “And even if you do apologize, am I supposed to accept it? The people who messed up haven’t even come out to let off a single fart yet—do you really think your farts smell better than theirs?”
Liu Qinxin was momentarily speechless, unable to utter a single word in reply.
If Ming Yue had acted according to normal rules, she wouldn’t have been afraid at all; she could handle any words or moves, and she’d even make sure Ming Yue couldn’t complain about a single bit of injustice outside.
After all, everyone knew how virtuous she was, so they’d never believe a word Ming Yue said.
But precisely because Ming Yue was resorting to such unreasonable, heartless, and utterly disgraceful thug-like tactics, Liu Qinxin simply couldn’t respond smoothly.
Her delicate, charming cheeks quickly flushed bright red, her lips parted and closed repeatedly, and in a short time she couldn’t think of any advantageous retort, leaving her utterly choked up and miserable.
“Alright, stop standing there like a pole. Take your precious daughter back upstairs and wash her neck, then wait for me. You’re not some streetlamp that can hang a bulb to light the way, are you?” Ming Yue smiled faintly and went back to leaning against the railing, watching the show.
When the big performance downstairs finally ended, Ming Xia was also dragged back upstairs by Ma Fengying.
Ming Yue, who had been lying on the upper floor for a long time, suddenly raised her voice and shouted down to the ground, “Mr. Ming, do you still remember what I told you before?”
Ming Shuo looked up and saw Ming Yue smiling at him.
But that smile…
Ming Shuo was still furious and had no intention of responding to Ming Yue at all.
Ming Yue loosened her muscles and said, “So you don’t remember? Fine, I’ll say it again. I already told you before that your dear little sister has been plotting against me and slandering my reputation. And now, after hearing this, it looks like she’s gone online to smear me again today. What a mix of old and new grievances! How can we possibly let this go without getting even?”
Ming Shuo still ignored her.
Ming Yue continued rambling, “I’ve got plenty of free time now, and coincidentally I just heard from your precious beauty that your precious daughter is involved too. Perfect timing—since I’m in a good mood, let’s get even together. Mr. Ming, what do you think? Should I kneel down and beg for forgiveness by pressing their heads to the ground, or should I just slap each of them once and be done with it?”
“If you want them to kneel, let them kneel; if you want to hit them, go ahead and hit them. And if they end up dead, that’s even better—it’ll save me the trouble of having them in my sight.”
Ming Shuo shot a cold glance at Ming Yue upstairs and sat down on the sofa, closing his eyes to rest.
Ming Yue perked up immediately and burst into laughter.
She clapped her hands, in high spirits, and said, “Great! Don’t worry—I won’t hold back at all. I’m heading over right away. You just keep resting!”
Ming Yue stood up, dragged her chair back into the room, and then somehow pulled out a baseball bat, standing in the hallway and shouting loudly,
“Auntie, Little Jiajia—can you hear me? Dad said I’m willing to kneel and press your heads to the ground if you want, and I’m willing to beat you up if you dare—better yet, kill you if you must, so you won’t be in his way anymore. So you two big villains who deliberately ruined my reputation, wash your necks and wait—Auntie’s coming!”
