Chapter 63: Begging Him to Be All Right

Chapter 63: Begging Him to Be All Right

When Gu Yanxing, Jiang Feng, and the shamelessly persistent Gu Yanyun arrived, the two cars had already been completely wrecked.

But even more shocking was the scene before their eyes.

Not far in front of the cars, several people lay sprawled haphazardly in pools of blood.

There was Fu Qiancheng, there was Ming Yue, and two other unfamiliar men.

As soon as Gu Yanxing and the others caught sight of the scene, they all seemed to hold their breath, shaking their heads repeatedly and muttering, “No, no—this can’t be true!”

Especially Jiang Feng—he not only forgot to breathe; it almost felt as if his heart had stopped beating too.

He simply couldn’t believe that the mighty Ming Yue would actually fall like this.

Yet when he saw her lying there in a pool of blood, Jiang Feng could no longer contain himself. He dashed straight over to her, about to reach out and pull her into his arms.

But just then, the woman in the pool of blood suddenly opened her tightly shut eyes and fixed her gaze on them. “Hurry! Get Fu Qiancheng to the Hospital—quickly!”

No sooner had she finished speaking than her right hand shot up, and with the stone still clutched in her hand, she brought it down hard on the head of the man beside her who was still conscious and crawling toward safety.

The single blow sent the man sprawling unconscious.

Then, summoning every ounce of strength she had left, Ming Yue sat up and spat directly at the man. “Remember this! My name is Ming Yue, and I’m the Grandmother! If Fu Qiancheng survives, I’ll spare your miserable lives! But if anything happens to him—if so much as a hair on his head is harmed—I’ll skin you both alive, you bastards!”

At the very moment she opened her eyes, Jiang Feng let out a sigh of relief.

Yet upon hearing these words, an inexplicable lump formed in his throat. He glanced over at Fu Qiancheng, who had already passed out and was lying motionless beside Ming Yue, his emotions a tangled mess.

Still, he crouched down beside Fu Qiancheng and reached out to feel for his breath.

Only after confirming that Fu Qiancheng was still alive did he turn to Ming Yue and ask, “Are you okay?”

“Still alive,” Ming Yue replied, spitting out a mouthful of blood as she tossed aside the stone in her hand. Then she turned to Fu Qiancheng, propping him up against her chest—after all, it was Fu Qiancheng who had taken the fatal blow meant for her and fallen unconscious—and said once more to Jiang Feng and the Gu brothers, who had by now joined her: “Take him to the hospital—hurry!”

“Sister Ming, give Brother Qiancheng to my brother; let him carry him on his back,” Gu Yanyun whispered softly.

In all his life, he had never seen a woman quite like this—never seen a Ming Yue like this.

Gu Yanxing nodded in agreement. “Yanyun’s right—hand him over to me, and let Yanyun help support you.”

“Alright, but be careful. He took a hit to the back and the head, and there’s also a wound under his arm,” Ming Yue quickly decided, placing the unconscious Fu Qiancheng into Gu Yanxing’s arms. She bit her lip and said earnestly, “Please take good care of him!”

As for Jiang Feng, who had arrived first but showed no intention of taking Fu Qiancheng to the hospital, she no longer held any hope for him.

After all, she’d known from the start that this man’s closeness to Fu Qiancheng had nothing to do with mutual admiration. He had his own agenda.

What exactly that agenda was, she didn’t care about—and she certainly wasn’t going to ask.

Gu Yanxing, however, was different.

He truly regarded Fu Qiancheng as his closest brother, the kind you’d risk your life for.

Handing Fu Qiancheng over to him meant she could rest easy.

With that thought in mind, Ming Yue felt much more at ease and gave Gu Yanxing a grateful smile.

Gu Yanxing nodded, smoothly taking Fu Qiancheng into his arms and preparing to carry him to his car—yet he couldn’t help but ask one last question: “What about you?”

He understood the unspoken implication behind her words: she wasn’t leaving yet, which was why he asked. “I’m waiting for the police to come and take this beast away. Anyone who dares to mess with me won’t have a peaceful day,” Ming Yue’s eyes flashed with a cold glint.

Once she was certain Fu Qiancheng was safely nestled in Gu Yanxing’s arms, she no longer hesitated. She raised her foot and kicked hard at the two thugs lying on the ground.

If killing someone weren’t illegal, she’d probably have delivered a fatal blow by now.

Gu Yanxing hesitated for a moment, looking at Ming Yue. “You… are you sure you’re okay? Won’t it be dangerous? Maybe you should come with us instead?”

“No need.”

“Ming Yue…”

“Just listen to her. It’ll be fine, Yanxing. Hurry up and take Qiancheng to the hospital with Yanyun—while I stay here and wait with her for the police to arrive.”

Jiang Feng finally spoke up.

Ming Yue didn’t argue.
